Shiv Nadar University will conduct the Shiv Nadar University Management Admission Test or SMAT 2026 for admission to its MBA programmes, for the applicants who have registered on or before the last date. The test will be a pen and paper-based one for 90 minutes with questions asked on Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Reading Comprehension. Each component will have 20 questions.
It is to be noted that candidates who score above the 65 percentile in CAT/ NMAT/ XAT/ GMAT or above 80 percentile in CMAT are exempt from appearing for SMAT. Shortlisted candidates will also have to appear for a comprehensive personal evaluation process the dates of which will be intimated by the university, Shortlisting is based on the scores in SMAT 2026 OR valid scores in CAT/ NMAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT. The final selection will be based on the performance in the personal evaluation and scores of the entrance exam.
Candidates may note that score-card from any one of the entrance exams - GMAT/GRE-2021-25 or CAT (2021-25) or XAT/NMAT/GATE (2021-25) scores are only accepted for ongoing admissions.

Besides the academic qualifications, candidates must also have scored above 65 percentile in any of the following qualifying examinations-

*Candidates who have valid scores in CAT/GMAT/XAT/NMAT/CMAT as mentioned above are exempt from appearing for SMAT 2026.
Shiv Nadar University specifies the SMAT 2026 exam pattern. The entrance exam was conducted in paper-pencil mode for the applicants who have registered. The exam conducted for a duration of 90 minutes. As per the exam pattern of SMAT 2026, the exam has three sections:
1. Quantitative Aptitude
2. Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
3. Verbal and Reading Comprehension.
Each of the three sections carries objective-type questions. As per the marking scheme, each section carries 40 marks making it a total of 120 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. In order to perform well, aspirants must have a good understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern of SMAT 2026.
The SMAT 2026 result is communicated to the students who then had to appear for the personal evaluation process that will be held by the authorities. The result of SMAT 2026 indicates the student's details about their performance in the entrance exam. It is also a screening for the next stage in the selection process which is the personal evaluation stage after which candidates who clear it will be offered admissions.
The selection process of SMAT involves clearing both the SMAT and the personal interview round. The weightage for SMAT and PI is 80% and 20 % respectively. Candidates with above 65 percentile in CAT 2021, 22/ NMAT 2021, 22/ XAT 2022, 23/ Valid GMAT (2019 onwards) are eligible directly for the personal interview round. Candidates applying on the basis of CMAT scores must note that they are exempt from SMAT only if they have scored 80 percentile or above in CMAT 2025/2026.
