Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background, like graduation, place and any such thing)

Shruti Sharma: My name is Shruti Sharma, and I am from Bhiwani District. Currently living in Faridabad, Delhi NCR. I have completed my BBA from J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology with a CGPA of 7.8, and I am currently pursuing my MBA in Business Analytics (Dual Specialisation – Human Resource Analytics and Supply Chain Analytics) from Manav Rachna University in collaboration with the Institute of Analytics, UK, with a current CGPA of 8.8. I have a strong interest in data analysis and business intelligence, and I have channelled that interest into building practical skills in Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, and Python.

To compliment my academic learning, I have completed industry-recognised simulations with Deloitte Australia and Tata iQ on Forage, where I worked on real business datasets using Tableau and Power BI — giving me exposure to how top global firms approach data problems. Apart from academics, I have also co-authored a book chapter accepted in a Scopus-indexed international publication, which reflects my passion for research and analytical thinking.

Careers360: Tell us something about your College/University and what made you choose it

Shruti Sharma: I chose Manav Rachna University because of its collaboration with the Institute of Analytics, UK, which gives the MBA program a strong international and industry-oriented perspective. The curriculum is heavily focused on real-world data analytics applications rather than just theoretical knowledge, which aligned perfectly with my career goals. The dual specialisation structure allowed me to build depth in both business analytics and related domains simultaneously.

Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at your College/university, and what made you choose this specialisation?

Shruti Sharma: I am pursuing an MBA in Business Analytics with a Dual Specialization. I chose this specialisation because I have always been drawn to working with data and finding patterns that help businesses make better decisions. During my BBA, I realised that the future of every industry, whether real estate, finance, or consulting, is driven by data. Business Analytics felt like the perfect combination of management thinking and technical skills. It allows me to not just understand business problems but to solve them using data, dashboards, and evidence-based insights, which is exactly the kind of work I want to do professionally.

Careers360: Is an internship mandatory at your University? If yes, where did you pursue it, and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?

Shruti Sharma: Yes, internship is mandatory as part of our MBA curriculum. Through the college placement cell, I was selected for an internship at Tech Mahindra, but due to some unavoidable personal reasons, I was unable to join it at that time despite being selected. Taking initiative on my own, I then reached out personally through a reference and secured an internship at Victora Auto Pvt. Ltd. (Now renamed as Victura Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) in Faridabad from June 2025 to August 2025 — a duration of approximately 2 months. And honestly, looking back, I feel that everything happens for a reason because the work I got to do at Victoria Auto, analysing real data of 2,500+ employees and building actual dashboards, gave me hands-on experience that I genuinely value and love talking about.

Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?

Shruti Sharma: So when it comes to support, I would say I was quite fortunate to have help coming from multiple directions! The placement office regularly shared opportunities and organised resume-building and interview preparation sessions, which genuinely helped me understand what companies look for. My faculty members were always approachable they didn't just teach concepts in class but also helped me connect those concepts to real workplace situations, which made my internship experience much more meaningful. And honestly, my peers were one of my biggest supports we constantly shared leads, tips, and resources, and that sense of teamwork made the whole process feel a lot less overwhelming. What I truly appreciate is that the support was never just about "getting" an internship it was about being prepared to actually perform well once you're there. And I think that made all the difference for me.

Careers360: How was your experience with the internship? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?

Shruti Sharma: My internship experience was genuinely enriching and eye-opening. Working on real data of 2,500+ employees gave me a sense of scale and responsibility that classroom learning cannot replicate. I got hands-on experience building dashboards, conducting exit interviews, analysing attrition patterns, and presenting findings to leadership, all within a real business environment.

My key takeaways are: first, data without context means nothing; understanding the business problem before diving into the data is critical. Second, communication is just as important as analysis — a great dashboard that nobody understands has zero impact. And third, even as an intern, your work can drive real decisions, which taught me to take ownership and deliver with accuracy and intent.
