Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background, like graduation, place and any such thing)
Maham: My name is Maham Rehman, and I am a final year student at Manav Rachna University (MRU), pursuing a BBA in Global Operations Management. I completed my schooling at Delhi Public School, Faridabad. During school, I developed an interest in business, economics, and management subjects, which naturally led me to choose my current field of study: Bachelor's of Business Administration at the university level. At Manav Rachna University, I have been able to build on this foundation through a more structured and practical understanding of business operations and management.

Careers360: Tell us something about your College/University and what made you choose it
Maham: I chose Manav Rachna University because it offers a structured and industry-oriented curriculum that focuses on both academic learning and practical exposure. The BBA program, especially in Global Operations Management, is a fast track program with dedicated semesters for internships alongside academics, which was one of the key reasons I chose it, as it allows me to gain real industry experience while studying. It provides a strong foundation in business, operations, and management concepts, with a focus on supply chain and operations, which is a growing and in demand field. Overall, I chose MRU because of its strong academic structure combined with practical learning opportunities that help in developing professional skills and preparing for the corporate world.
Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at your College/University and what made you choose this specialisation?
Maham: I am pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Global Operations Management at Manav Rachna University. I chose this specialisation because it helped me build a strong foundation in business management while also gaining real industry experience and practical skills required in the corporate world as it has internship experience integrated within the program along with academics, which provides strong practical exposure while studying.
This program covers key areas such as operations management, supply chain, and logistics, which are essential for improving business processes and efficiency. It also aligns with my interest in understanding real-world business operations and how organisations optimise their performance.
Careers360: Is an internship mandatory at your University? If yes, where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?
Maham: Yes, internships are a mandatory part of my university curriculum in my course, BBA Global Operations Management. In my 3rd semester, I completed an internship at Pratham Test Prep as a Strategic Marketing & Outreach Intern. In my 5th semester, I also worked with KPMG India in the HR/Talent Acquisition domain, which I pursued alongside my studies with special permission from the college, as the university was very supportive of gaining industry exposure. Currently, in my 6th semester, I am interning with Influx Studio as a Marketing and Outreach Intern. The selection process for these internships generally involves applying through internship opportunities shared by the placement cell or external applications through Internshala, followed by a basic screening or interaction round based on the role.
Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?
Maham: The placement office at Manav Rachna University played a very supportive role by regularly sharing internship opportunities and guiding students through the application process. They also helped in coordinating with companies and providing updates regarding available roles.
The faculty members were also very helpful in providing guidance related to internships, helping us understand professional expectations and supporting us whenever approvals or academic permissions were required, especially in cases where internships were pursued alongside academics. In particular, our mentor, Ms Vandana Zutshi Bhat, played a very important role throughout my journey by continuously guiding, supporting, and encouraging me during my internship experiences and academic decisions.
My peers were also supportive, as we often shared opportunities, helped each other with applications, and discussed interview experiences. Overall, the combined support from faculty, peers, and the placement office made the internship process smooth and enriching.
Careers360: How was your experience with the internship? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?
Maham: My internship experience has been very enriching and has helped me gain practical exposure to the professional world. It allowed me to understand how organisations function in real time and how different teams coordinate to achieve common goals.
The key takeaways from these experiences include improved communication, teamwork, and adaptability. I also learned how to manage responsibilities in a structured and deadline-driven environment. Overall, these experiences helped build my confidence and prepared me for future professional settings by giving me real exposure to workplace expectations, discipline, and corporate culture.
