Answer. SOIL Institute of Management was established in 2008 (13 years ago). SOIL was co-created by 32 leading companies and supported by 25 NGOs with the aim to build Leaders with character, competence and enthusiasm. SOIL Institute of Management has 2 campuses (Gurgaon and Manesar) where it offers 3 post graduate programs - PGPM & PGPM HR at Gurgaon campus , PGDM course at Manesar Campus. SOIL’s 1 Year PGPM programme was started in 2008.The 2 year PGDM programme was approved by AICTE in 2019.

Question. Tell us something about the admission process?

Answer. SOIL Institute of Management follows a rolling admissions process.

Candidates seeking admission to SOIL institute postgraduate programs need to follow the below mentioned steps.

  • Fill an online application form and pay the application fee of Rs. 2000

  • Applications will be reviewed by the admissions committee and Shortlisted for further rounds based on the profile (Profile based Evaluation)

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for GE, GD and PI process.

  • Selected candidates will be offered admission

The evaluation criteria for SOIL management institute programmes is mentioned below.

Profile Based Evaluation

SOIL follows Profile Based Evaluation for shortlisting of students. The criteria on which an application is evaluated are Academic Scores, Leadership Potential, Extracurricular activities, Awards & Achievements and Exam Scores.

Exam Scores Accepted by SOIL

For the PGDM program, SOIL accepts all nationalized test scores.SOIL considers NMAT score but the student will also have to appear in any one of the nationalized tests as per AICTE mandate.

For PGPM programs, test scores are not mandatory but add weightage to the student's profile. Students can seek admission by appearing for SOIL Leadership Test (STAT).

STAT is a mandatory test as part of the selection process for PGPM programmes at SOIL institute.

Question. What kind of infrastructure can students expect at the institute? Please elaborate?

Answer. SOIL Institute of Management has 2 Campuses - Manesar and Gurgaon campus.

Manesar campus – 2 year PGDM Program

SOIL Gurgaon Campus – 1 year PGPM & PGPM-HR Program

Gurgaon campus is located in Sector 44. The campus building is a four story spacious building. Each floor is characterised with one pillar of SOIL and thus displays the vision of that particular floor.

The ground floor is dedicated to Mindfulness as the exquisite knowledge centre is stationed there. The first floor is dedicated to compassion as students present their social innovation programmes there. The second floor is dedicated to ethics as student classrooms take up the majority area on that particular floor. The third floor is dedicated to sustainability where we have the vibrant and extremely creative SOIL Staff seated. Finally, the fourth floor is the auditorium which is used for diverse purposes, hence it is dedicated to diversity. Facilities available SOIL Gurgaon campus:

Question. There is a lot of stress that is being made with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?

Answer. The SOIL institute was co-created by a consortium of 32 national and multinational companies who are actively involved in curriculum creation, selection of students, mentoring of students and placements. SOIL has a dedicated CMS (Career Management Services) team who work on maintaining corporate relations, finding opportunities for students, training and guiding the students to get placed.

Question. Internships are now mandatory as per AICTE guidelines. Does the institute help students with this? If yes, how?

Answer. Yes, the SOIL Institute of Management helps students find internship opportunities. The process starts in the month of November or in the second trimester of the 1st year for every batch. Every student has to take up a mandatory internship which is also called summer placement after the end of first year or third trimester. Students submit their project/ internship reports at the end of the 2-3 month internship.
