NIT, Silchar has also released the instructions for the candidates shortlisted for WAT/GD and PI. Candidates must check with the following guidelines before appearing for the Written Ability Test/Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.
- The shortlist of candidates for the WAT/GD & PI process for admission to the MBA Programme 2025-27 is provisional
- The candidates are required to bring the original certificates and mark sheets of all the examinations, from Class 10th onwards, leading to the qualifying degree.
- They are also required to bring category certificates, CAT/MAT/CMAT scorecards, proof of age, etc. during the WAT/GD & PI process as per the schedule above
- Candidates who fail to provide the above-mentioned documents during document verification will stand disqualified from the NIT Silchar admission process
- All the applicants must report the venue (Department of Management Studies, NIT Silchar) sharply at 9 AM as per the schedule

If you are from Assam, you may have a chance in some branches like ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil. Getting Computer Science is difficult unless your rank is much lower.
If you are from another state, getting a seat in NIT Silchar will be more difficult, especially in top branches like CSE and ECE, because the closing ranks are much lower for other state candidates.
For example, in recent years:
For other state OBC candidates, CSE closed around 3900 rank, and ECE closed around 5800 rank.
