FMS Delhi Placement Analysis (2022-26): Official Reports Show an Unexplained Gap Since 2023

Sambhav ThakurUpdated on 02 Jul 2026, 07:49 PM IST

FMS Delhi is a well-known institution known for its ROI and impressive placement. The institute’s placement credentials are so well-established that few feel the need to check or scrutinize the placement reports in detail. However, while analysing the official FMS placement statistics, we observed a change in reporting pattern after 2023. While earlier FMS placement reports accounted for every student through placements or placement holidays, the latest FMS Delhi placement reports leave an unexplained gap of 17 to 23 students. This article analyses the official placement data, salary trends, and reporting to understand what the numbers reveal—and, equally importantly, what they do not.

FMS Placement Analysis (2022-26): Number Consistent Until 2022

In the first two FMS Delhi placement reports, the total number of students participating in the placements matched the number of students placed, leaving no gap to be questioned. In the batches 2021-23 and 2020-22, the numbers are consistent, and the unaccounted gap is zero. However, the narrative changed after 2023.

What the FMS Delhi Placement Reports Don't Explain

The official placement reports do not disclose the final status of the students resulting into unaccounted gap. There can be plenty of reasons for this gap such as

    • Took off-campus placement
    • Left the placement process
    • Gone for higher studies
    • Indulged in entrepreneurship
    • Remain unplaced after the placement process

Understanding the Unaccounted Gap in FMS Placements

We noticed that, over the last three placement cycles, students in the range of 17 to 23 remain unaccounted for in the placement statistics after excluding the students who received a formal placement offer and who are officially on placement holiday. The current number stands at 17 unaccounted students in the FMS Delhi placement report 2026.

This analysis just highlights the reporting gap and lack of disclosure of student outcomes. The last three years' official placement reports do not no provide the status of the unaccounted students, contrary to the past reports, where all the students were accurately accounted for via the placement holidays or placement statistics. The whole article and analysis raise a simple question about the transparency or full disclosure of the placement data. The disclosure of the unaccounted gap of 17 to 23 students in the last three placement reports will provide much-needed transparency for the prospective students aiming for MBA admission in FMS.
