Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?
Vaibhav Shet: Yes, in the beginning, it was a bit challenging to adjust to the new environment and the fast pace of the course. It took me some time to get comfortable with the schedule and expectations. But gradually, I settled in by managing my time better, interacting more with classmates, and staying consistent with my work. Now I feel much more confident and comfortable.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc., for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?
Vaibhav Shet: There is a wide range of activities and clubs that support both academic and extracurricular development. Our college organises events like CSR initiatives, management fests, and intra-college fest & various competitions, which help students gain practical exposure. We have clubs such as the Finance Club, Marketing Club, AI Club, HR Club, as well as Sports and Cultural clubs. These clubs focus on enhancing specific skill sets like leadership, teamwork, creativity, and technical knowledge. I am actively involved in activities related to CSR, management fests, and I am a part of clubs like Marketing, AI, and also participate in cultural activities. Being involved in these has helped me improve my communication skills, teamwork, and overall personality development.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?
Vaibhav Shet: I usually wake up around 6:45 in the morning and get ready for the day at GIBS Business School. My college starts at 9:30, and I arrive by around 9:15. The day includes classes in marketing and operations, along with group discussions and other activities. Classes usually get over by 3:30, after which I spend time on assignments, club activities, or sometimes just relax or play sports. At night, I usually check the news or scroll reels for a while, and then I go to sleep around 12. Overall, it’s a well-balanced and productive routine.
Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher student relationship in your understanding.
Vaibhav Shet: At our college, the faculty-student ratio is quite good, so we get proper attention from the professors. They are very friendly and always helpful, which makes it easy for us to approach them whenever we have doubts. The teacher-student relationship here is really supportive. They guide us not only in academics but also in our careers, and this makes the learning environment very comfortable and encouraging. We are also having a mentoring session twice a week.
Careers360: What facilities do you have on the campus? What do you like here the most, which you feel is unique and differentiating?
Vaibhav Shet: In our college, we have all the necessary facilities like a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, a well-equipped library, a gym, sports facilities, as well as dedicated spaces for dance and yoga. These facilities help us maintain a good balance between academics and extracurricular activities. What I like most is the overall environment here. Along with studies, there is equal importance given to fitness, creativity, and personal development. This balanced approach makes the institute feel unique and different.
Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness factor over there?
Vaibhav Shet: Our hostel is quite comfortable. The rooms are decent and have all the basic facilities we need as students. Cleanliness is also maintained well. Regular cleaning is done, and the common areas are kept neat, so it feels comfortable to stay there. Overall, it’s a good place to live while studying.
Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail requisite medical attention if needed in an emergency?
Vaibhav Shet: Basic medical facilities are available, and in case of any emergency, we can easily get medical attention. The institute provides support and guidance, and nearby hospitals or clinics are accessible whenever needed. So overall, we feel safe knowing that help is available in case of any medical situation.
Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?
Vaibhav Shet: I’m honestly a normal student, so I don’t follow any perfect routine. I just try to manage things as they come. I make sure I attend my classes and finish assignments on time. When exams are near, I focus more on studying and revising important topics. For projects, I don’t leave everything for the last minute-I try to
do a little work whenever I get time. Sometimes it gets hectic, but I manage by adjusting my schedule. I also take breaks, spend time with friends, or do things I enjoy, so I don’t feel too stressed. It’s not always perfectly balanced, but I try to handle everything in a simple and practical way.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies on campus and how significant they are from your point of view or students' point of view?
Vaibhav Shet: At our campus, we have different clubs and societies like cultural clubs, sports clubs, management/marketing clubs, and also activities like dance, fitness, and events. Each club gives students a chance to explore their interests beyond academics. From a student’s point of view, these clubs are really important because they help us learn practical skills like teamwork, communication, and leadership. We also get opportunities to organise events, participate in competitions, and interact with new people.
