Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as from which place you are from?

C N Dhanya: I’m Dhanya, from Kumta, Karnataka. I’m currently pursuing my 2nd year PGDM at SDMIMD.

Careers360: Presently, which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?

C N Dhanya: I’m pursuing 2ND year of PGDM, specialising in Finance and Marketing at SDMIMD Mysore.

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

C N Dhanya: In the initial months at the institute, it was challenging to adjust to the new environment and managing studies and other extra-curricular activities but later I found my way to manage both.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

C N Dhanya: I wake up around 7 in the morning and after having break fast will proceed with the classes followed by tea break and healthy and useful interactions with my friends and after having dinner, I go through the topics that’s been taught and a little preparation for the next day. By 11.30 I go to sleep.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

C N Dhanya: The faculty-student ratio in our institute is 1:20, with 1 faculty member for every 20 students.

Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

C N Dhanya: In our college we have single occupancy rooms which are very comfortable, and the washrooms are taken care of by helpers every day.

Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams and other activities?

C N Dhanya: Im good at multi-tasking. I didn’t feel it’s harder to balance all.

Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?

C N Dhanya: There are many Clubs and Committees available in the college. I’m part of Abhigna (current affairs committee) and Kalanubhav (cultural committee).

Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

C N Dhanya: The popular hangouts at the institute is near mess and canteen. The most visited places nearby are Mysore Palace, Chamundeswari temple, Zoo, karanji lake etc.

Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?

C N Dhanya: I spend my leisure time by spending time with friends exploring near by places and reading novels.

Careers360: What types of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the recruitment process here?

C N Dhanya: Top companies like Morgan Stanely, Hitachi, Schnider electric, Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank have recruited from our campus. All the eligible students who sit for placements got placed. I got preplacement offer from Inprime Finserv where I was interning as a part of i=summer internship project.

Both the college SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce, Mumbai and Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development, Mysore are good.

You can choose any college on the basis on infrastructure, facility, teaching and placement. SDMIMD offer PGDM, PGPGCM Courses on MAT Score. Fees of PGDM is approximately 11 Lakhs and for SIES, it is approx 3 Lakhs for B. Com. You acn view the review of colleges through your portal.

As you have not mentioned your category for which you have applied in this examination. If we consider the previous year cutoff it was around 77 percentile for general so it is difficult for you to get in in general category. Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development, commonly called SDMIMD is in Mysore since 1993. It offers various courses under Management stream that features PGDM, PGCM, and PGPSM for those with Bachelor’s degrees.

Yes. The MAT 2020 and 2021 cutoff for SDMIMD is 75 percentile. So you have a very good chance of getting selected for further rounds. You may apply .Apply online through their official website ,if you have not given this college among your choices during MAT exam application. The application fee is Rs.1250.

Once you get shortlisted you will be called for the final stage of the selection process in March 2021. The PI process will consist of WAT, Extempore and Personal Interview.The final selection round for admission to SDMIMD will be held at several centres in India.

The eligibility criteria to get admission in Shri Dharamsthala Manjunatheshwar Institute of Management and Development in PGDM is that a candidate must have passed full-time bachelor's degree in any discipline from an institute recognized by UGC/AIU. The admission is based on CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/ATMA/MAT scores. Candidates with valid score in any one of the exams mentioned conducted from June 2020 up to March 2021 will be considered for admission for PGDM 2021-23. So if you are appearing for MAT 2021 May session then this score cannot be considered for admission. Yon need to have a valid score in any of the mentioned exams conducted from June 2020 to March 2021.
