Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

Jubair: Initially, it took some time to adjust to the academic rigor and fast-paced schedule of the program. The case-based learning approach and multiple assignments were new to me, but with the support of faculty and friendly interaction with seniors, I adapted quickly and became comfortable with the environment.

Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs etc. for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Jubair: SDMIMD offers a wide range of academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities. The institute has several clubs like Ink and voice (public speaking), Drishti (photography), Dimensions (editorial), and committees such as the Placement Cell, Alumni Committee, and Cultural Committee. I am currently active in events organized by the Placement Cell and often take part in case study competitions and management fests, which help me apply classroom learning in real-world situations.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Jubair: A typical day starts around 8:00 a.m. with getting ready and attending classes from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Afternoons are usually spent working on assignments, group projects, or attending club meetings. Evenings are for sports, walks around the green campus, or spending time with friends at the cafeteria. After dinner, I usually revise lessons or prepare for the next day’s classes before winding up for the night.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

Jubair: The campus has all modern facilities including smart classrooms, a well-equipped library with digital resources, Wi-Fi-enabled hostels, a gym, sports facilities, and a serene green environment. What I like most is the single-occupancy hostel room which provides privacy and a focused study environment. The campus’s cleanliness and natural beauty make it an inspiring place to learn.

Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels and how about the cleanliness factor over there?

Jubair: The hostel is very comfortable, with clean, well-maintained rooms and reliable Wi-Fi. The housekeeping staff maintain hygiene regularly, and both the hostel and dining areas are neat and pleasant. The peaceful environment adds to the comfort.

Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?
