Abhishek S: I am pursuing a PGDM course, and I am in my first year (second trimester).

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

Abhishek S: Yes. Since I was from a BCA background, I was unable to understand finance. Initially, I also found it a bit difficult to adapt to the daily schedule. I would say I have adapted to it now.

Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs, etc, for the various extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up and are a part of?

Abhishek S: There are many activities and events that take place on the campus, like cultural events, conferences, sports events, etc. Various committees hold many events every month. I am a member of the ANTS (Alumni Networking Team SDMIMD) committee.

Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute – what do you do from the time you wake up till you go to sleep?

Abhishek S: Usually, I tend to wake up a bit late as I cover my work during the late-night hours. A typical day involves around 3 classes on average, and we always have interesting discussions or presentations. Also, we usually have events like workshops, committee events, conferences, and sports competitions from time to time. It is very engaging.

Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio here and about the teacher-student relationship in your understanding.

Abhishek S: The faculty-to-student ratio is approximately 1:20. Teachers are helpful and understanding. We can even approach them after class hours for guidance.
