    Careers360: Tell us something about yourself such as from which place are you from?

    Pareekshith: My name is Pareekshith Gokhale, and I'm from Mundaje a small village near Shri Kshetra Dharmastala. I am a passionate BCom graduate from SDM College (autonomous), Ujire. With the work experience as an Associate Consultant, 5 months in an Audit Firm in Bangalore, dealing with Direct & Indirect Taxes and Audits of the Companies. I am here to align my financial skills along with managerial abilities to meet my future objectives.

    Careers360: Presently which course are you pursuing and in which year are you?

    Pareekshith: I am currently pursuing my first year of the two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) at SDMIMD Mysore.

    Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months when you joined the institute?

    Pareekshith: Adjusting to the rigorous academic schedule and adapting to the case-based learning approach were initial challenges. However, the supportive faculty, approachable seniors, and orientation programs helped me settle in quickly.

    Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute? Are there any clubs or extracurricular activities? Which ones have you taken up?

    Pareekshith: SDMIMD has a vibrant student life with a wide range of clubs and committees such as Dimensions (editorial), Drishti (photography), Toastmasters (public speaking), sports, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and cultural clubs. I'm actively involved in the Summer Internship Committee where we find Internship opportunities for our peers, as well as participating in inter-college case competitions.

    Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute.

    Pareekshith: A typical day begins with classes from 9 am, packed with interactive lectures, case discussions, and group projects. Afternoons are spent in the library or working on assignments and club activities. Evenings often include guest lectures, workshops, or sports, followed by socialising with friends at the campus cafeteria before finishing up with personal studies in the hostel.

    Careers360: Tell us about the faculty-student ratio and teacher-student relationships.

    Pareekshith: The faculty-student ratio is around 1:20, ensuring personalised attention and a collaborative learning environment. Faculty members are approachable, providing mentorship beyond the classroom and supporting students in research and career development.

    Careers360: What facilities do you have on campus? What do you like most that is unique or differentiating?

    Pareekshith: The campus is well-equipped with modern classrooms, a comprehensive library with digital access, computer labs, sports facilities, gym, amphitheatre, and student lounges. What stands out most is the single-occupancy hostel rooms and the lush green, award-winning campus architecture, fostering an inspiring learning environment.

    Careers360: How comfortable are your hostels, and how about the cleanliness?

    Pareekshith: Hostel life is comfortable with spacious, single-occupancy rooms, regular housekeeping, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The campus emphasises hygiene with clean dining areas and well-maintained common spaces.

    Careers360: What about the medical facilities? Can you avail of medical attention in an emergency?

    Pareekshith: Yes, there are medical facilities on campus with access to doctors and ambulance services. In case of emergencies, students receive prompt medical attention, and the administration coordinates with local hospitals when needed.

    Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?

    Pareekshith: Time management and prioritisation are crucial. The academic calendar is structured to allow for project work, exams, and participation in extracurriculars. Group studies and mutual support among peers also help in maintaining this balance.

    Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and their significance.

    Pareekshith: Clubs and societies add immensely to holistic development. From honing technical and managerial skills to offering platforms for creativity, leadership, networking, and building friendships, these organisations make campus life engaging and rewarding.

    Careers360: Is there any in-house magazine or journal for the latest campus events or happenings?

    Pareekshith: Yes, the Dimensions Club publishes the campus magazine, featuring student articles, interviews, event coverage, and creative contributions, keeping everyone connected with campus life.

    Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What are the most-visited places nearby?

    Pareekshith: On campus, the amphitheatre, cafeteria, and lawns are popular student hangouts. Nearby, students often visit the Mysore Palace, Kukkarahalli Lake, and cafes around the city for leisure and group outings.

    Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time at the campus?

    Pareekshith: I enjoy participating in sports, attending club events, exploring new books in the library, or socialising with friends. The campus frequently hosts cultural festivals, guest lectures, and business competitions, providing plenty of ways to unwind.

    Careers360: What type of companies come for campus recruitment and what percentage of students get placed every year? How is the placement process?

    Pareekshith: Top companies like Anand Rathi, Infosys, Wipro, Schnieder Electric, Deloitte, TTK Prestige, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank have recruited from our campus. All the eligible students who sit for placements got placed.

If we consider the previous year cutoff it was around 77 percentile for general so it is difficult for you to get in in general category.
