CAT 2025

Why These Last Days Are Critical

The last step in the preparation for CAT is not learning new concepts or going through more chapters. It is strategic to strengthen the knowledge already possessed. A good routine of last few days of preparation before the CAT helps you:

  • Lock in accuracy for medium-level questions

  • Strengthen your basics for high-weightage topics

  • Minimise the possibility of silly mistakes

  • Create a predictable time-management pattern

  • Develop tranquillity and certainty - very underrated

This is not about being perfect; it is about being consistent and having clarity.

Detailed CAT 2025 10-Day Day-Wise Revision Plan

The 10-day plan deconstructs your reversal into inconsequential, easy-to-handle stages so that you are always in command and at the same time not stressed out. It is a concentrated CAT 2025 day-wise revision tactic which aims to increase accuracy, improve self-confidence and keep your preparation on the same level till the exam.

Day 1: CAT Mock Test & Deep Error Analysis to Identify Weaknesses and Boost Percentile

At the very beginning of your plan, you should figure out what your actual position is.

You might not be very happy with the mock score, but it definitely indicates the way for the following ten days.

  • Go for a full-length mock in totally distraction-free conditions

  • Do not score with the benchmark - rather, look at your error patterns and study them

  • Spot up common weak spots (for example, struggle with RC inference, difficulties with quant algebra, wrong DI set selection, etc. )

  • Prepare three individual lists:

  2. Types of questions you misjudged

  3. Types of questions you get right consistently

This will then be the foundation of your personalised CAT 2025 day-wise revision strategy.

Day 2: CAT 2025 VARC Strategy & Reading Comprehension Practice

All the activities for day 2 will be centred on the improvement of your reading methodology.

The emphasis is on:

  • Grasping the layout of the RC (introduction → main point → illustrations → final point)

  • Doing 4-5 RC sets from various subjects.

  • Reinforcing parajumble intuition by practising without options (like in the exam).

  • Getting better in active reading: anticipating tone, recognising the author’s purpose, and distinguishing wrong choices.

Your target is not to hurry - it is to develop precision. This is the main part of your CAT VARC revision tips.

Day 3: Quant - High-Weightage Topics

This is to be counted among the best days ever. Use your whole day to revisit the topics with the highest scoring potential.

Get to know the following CAT high-weightage topics thoroughly:

  • Averages, ratios, and percentages

  • Profit, loss, and mixtures

  • Time-speed-distance and time-work

  • Linear and quadratic equations

  • Inequalities and functions basics

End up with:

  • 50-60 practice questions targeted on your weak areas

  • A 20-minute timed Quant drill to test retention

Day 4: DILR - Set Selection + Structured Thinking

DILR is a lot less complicated if you know what not to do.

Day 3 concern:

  • Cover 3-5 mixed sets of arrangements, matrices, logic puzzles and caselets

  • Make a “set selection checklist”

  • Work on dividing sets into micro-steps instead of brute-forcing

  • Support your CAT DILR revision tips with:

  • Learning to fast tell unstructured/choking sets

  • Practising visualisation methods for graphs and tables

Day 5: Triple Sectional Test Day

This is where endurance and strategy come together.

Do this:

  • 1 VARC sectional test

  • 1 DILR sectional test

  • 1 Quant sectional test

Your goal isn’t to score high. You’re training your brain to switch between section styles - verbal reading → logical reasoning → numerical calculation - the way you need on exam day.

Post-test:

  • Analyse only high-impact mistakes

  • Revise formula sheets and RC strategy notes

Day 6: Quant - Revise Weak Zones

You must have already identified your weak points from the Day 1 mocks.

Utilise this day for:

  • Bridging conceptual gaps

  • Tackling moderate-level questions from those areas

  • Reviewing key formulas and shortcuts

  • Doing 20-25 timed Quant questions as practice

Your confidence in Quant should significantly rise by this day.

Day 7: Heavy VARC Day: RC Drills & Verbal Reasoning Polishing for CAT

This day it will be a matter of reaching an entire consistency in VARC.

In order to reach it, you will need to do the following:

1. Passage of Reading Comprehension of 6 high-quality

2. Practice para-summary, odd-sentence-out, and para-completion

3. Quickly learn to evaluate answer options by eliminating distortions

4. Revise common RC traps like extreme options, out-of-scope choices, and half-true statements

At the end of this day, RC will be easier and more systematic.

Day 8: CAT 2025 DILR Practice – Mock Test

Time to strengthen stamina in reasoning.

Your tasks:

  • Attempt one DILR sectional mock

  • Solve 3 fresh sets after the mock

  • Analyse the difference between the sets you solved vs skipped

  • Plan your “DILR set selection strategy” for exam day

You should now be comfortable handling moderate-level sets without stress.

Day 9: Final Full-Length Mock + Complete Revision

This is your last mock - and your last chance to refine timing strategy.

Do this:

  • Write the mock in exam-like conditions

  • Take proper breaks

  • Analyse timing wastage carefully

  • Revise all major formulas, graphs, and important logic principles

This day locks in your exam strategy.

Day 10: Light Day - Revision and Relax

This day is really about being clear-headed and not pushing yourself too hard. Concentrate on these activities only:

1. Revisiting high-weightage topics only

2. Practising reading comprehension strategies

3. Re-evaluating the rules for selecting DILR sets

4. Trying out the bookmarked Quant questions

5. Keeping your eating light and sleeping well

By the end of the day you should feel calm and prepared, not tired out.

CAT 2025 Section-Wise Strategy

These final days are all about using the right approach for each section instead of trying to do everything at once. This CAT 2025 section-wise strategy breaks down exactly how to optimise your revision for VARC, DILR, and Quant with maximum impact.

VARC - Smart Accuracy Over Speed

Your manner should be measured and self-assured. These CAT VARC revision tips are beneficial:

  • Reading with the aim of understanding the passage structure, not memorising facts

  • Using reasoning instead of gut feeling to eliminate wrong options

  • Do not go overboard with your attempts; the quality of your answer matters much more than the number of attempts

  • Get used to hard topics like philosophy, economics, and sociology

  • Do parajumbles without the pressure of a timer

  • Keep your reading speed nice and relaxed

DILR - Solve the Right Sets, Not All Sets

The Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) section gives patience and clarity their due. These are the tips for CAT DILR preparation:

  • Always use the first 2-3 minutes to go over all sets

  • Quickly get rid of sets that appear to be disorganised or are based on too many assumptions

  • Try to find sets where there is an easy understanding of relationships among the data

  • Train to show data visually - in the form of tables, grids, charts

  • Set a time limit for each set: if you do not find a way out in 3-4 minutes, then leave

  • Do not let your pride compel you to conquer a set - be wise in your choice

Quant - Build Strength Through Fundamentals

Quant success comes from a calm, formula-driven mindset. These CAT Quant revision tips keep you grounded:

  • Keep a short formula handbook for constant revision

  • Prioritise Arithmetic and Algebra - these topics dominate every year

  • Practise 20-25 moderate questions daily

  • Avoid guessing - negative marking hurts more here

  • Do small timed mocks to control your pace

  • Track patterns in mistakes to avoid repeating them

Have a question related to CAT ?

Hello,

For a raw score of 56 in CAT 2025 Slot 3, your expected overall percentile is likely to be in the range of the 90th-95th percentile. The exact percentile can vary slightly on the final normalization process and the process and performance of all test-takers. In this article you'll find more about the CAT result.

I hope it will clear your query!!

Hello,
With a projected CAT percentile of 87% but not clearing sectional cutoffs, your chances at top IIMs are limited because they require both overall percentile and sectional minimums. However, you still have a good shot at other reputed management institutes and non-IIM B-schools. Consider colleges like NMIMS, SPJIMR, IMT, TAPMI, Great Lakes, and other well-ranked private or state-level B-schools that accept CAT scores and weigh your profile holistically. Your academic record, BSc in Animation with 80%, and 5 years of work experience at Ubisoft India are strong points and may help in institutes that value work experience in their selection process. Also, explore institutes that accept XAT, MAT, or CMAT, where your profile can be competitive.
Hope this helps you.

Good Morning,

NIT Rourkela CAT cutoff range is between 70-85 percentiles for the general category. 70 is the minimum percentile needed to apply, and 85 is the highest percentile. However, the maximum percentile depends on the particular year competition. It can be changed.

Thank You.

If you filled the UGC NET form under EWS but you don’t have a valid EWS certificate, then forget using the EWS category. They won’t accept it. You’ll automatically be treated as General category during document verification.

And no, this won’t make your form “invalid” or “illegal.” It just means you won’t get the EWS benefit.

So yes — you can still go for General category posts and Professor recruitment. Just don’t try to submit a fake/invalid certificate; that will get you disqualified.

Hello,
If your CAT admit card shows your surname first followed by your first name as entered in the form, it is correct. You do not need to worry about this format as long as it matches the details you provided. Ensure all other information on the admit card is accurate and carry it to the exam along with the required identification documents.
Hope this helps you.
