National Insurance Academy (NIA), Pune was established in 1980 by the Ministry of Finance - Government of India. National Insurance Academy Pune is accredited by the NBA. NIA Pune PGDM programme is approved by the AICTE and granted equivalence to MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates having a valid score in CAT/MAT/XAT and qualifying for the PI round will be considered for NIA Pune admissions.

Careers360: Tell us something about yourself.
Jatin Kumar: My name is Jatin Kumar. I have completed my M.Com in Business Administration and I am currently pursuing PGDM in Insurance at NIA. I consider myself hardworking, dedicated, and someone who believes in continuous improvement. I value time management and learning from experiences.
Careers360: What were the factors that made you choose NIA?
Jatin Kumar: Small batch size, 100% placement record, and good ROI were the major factors that attracted me to NIA.
Careers360: What was the first thing that you noticed about the campus and life at NIA?
Jatin Kumar: The greenery and peaceful environment. It gives a professional yet comfortable learning atmosphere.
Careers360: What were the initial challenges faced by you at the campus?
Jatin Kumar: Adjusting to the rigorous academic schedule and technical subjects initially was challenging, but with peer support and faculty guidance, I adapted quickly.
Careers360: What do you think are unique facilities that are offered at NIA?
Jatin Kumar: Industry-focused curriculum, insurance-specialized library, guest lectures by industry leaders, and strong corporate exposure.
Careers360: Give us a glimpse of the daily routine followed by you at the NIA Campus.
Jatin Kumar: Morning run and Gym then lectures, in evening sports activity.
Careers360: If you were to rate one favorite thing at the NIA Campus, what would it be?
Jatin Kumar: The greenery and calmness.
Careers360: How would you rate the campus facilities?
Jatin Kumar: I would rate the facilities offered at the campus a 6/10.
Careers360: Which areas do you think can do with some improvement?
Jatin Kumar: Some improvement needed in infrastructure of sports activities
Careers360: What is your opinion on the peer groups at NIA?
Jatin Kumar: Peer groups at NIA are highly supportive and intellectually stimulating. They push you to grow and think practically.
Careers360: What are the regular fun activities at NIA?
Jatin Kumar: Sports tournaments, cultural nights, festival celebrations, and club events.
Careers360: Name some of the prominent clubs at NIA. Which ones are you part of?
Jatin Kumar: Manthan Club, Library Club, Cultural Committee, and Admission Committee.
I am part of the Admission Committee. These clubs are important as they build leadership and teamwork skills.
Careers360: Name some extracurricular activities that you participate in.
Jatin Kumar: Event coordination, sports, presentations, and Volunteering for various events.
Careers360: What are your stress busters?
Jatin Kumar: Talking with friends, short walks on campus, listening to music, and playing sports.
Careers360: Name some activities that are related and focused on the NIA PGDM.
Jatin Kumar: Case study discussions, insurance simulations, live projects, industry seminars, internship.
Careers360: If you were to rate your academic infrastructure, what would be your opinion?
Jatin Kumar: In my opinion, I would rate the academic infrastructure a 5/10.
Careers360: In your opinion, how do campus life and interactions shape a student's life?
Jatin Kumar: Campus life builds confidence, networking skills, adaptability, and practical understanding beyond textbooks.
Careers360: What are the regular events that are held at the NIA campus?
Jatin Kumar: Guest lectures, insurance conclaves, cultural fests, sports events, alumni interactions..
Careers360: If you had to describe your campus in a nutshell, what would that be?
Jatin Kumar: A focused, professional, and growth-oriented learning environment.
Careers360: What would you miss most about the campus and life here after you leave?
Jatin Kumar: I will miss the peaceful campus environment after I leave.
