Careers360: Tell us something about yourself.
    Ramit Singh:
I am currently pursuing PGDM at National Insurance Academy, Pune, with a strong interest in insurance, risk management, and public policy. I am academically driven and enjoy engaging in discussions that connect theory with real-world applications. I aim to build a career that combines technical expertise with meaningful impact.

Careers360: What were the factors that made you choose NIA?
    Ramit Singh:
I chose NIA because of its specialised focus on insurance and its strong industry linkage. The structured PGDM program, regular conclaves, and seminars ensure practical learning. The opportunity for On-the-Job Training further convinced me that NIA provides real-world exposure along with academic depth.

Careers360: What was the first thing that you noticed about the campus and life at NIA?
    Ramit Singh:
The lush green campus in the heart of Pune city was the first thing that impressed me. It offers a peaceful yet professional environment. The disciplined academic culture and focused student life make it a great place to learn and grow.

Careers360: What were the initial challenges faced by you at the campus?
    Ramit Singh:
Initially, adjusting to the rigorous academic schedule was challenging. Managing case studies, presentations, and committee responsibilities required strong time management. However, this experience helped me become more organised and professionally disciplined over time.

Careers360: What do you think are the unique facilities offered at NIA?
    Ramit Singh:
NIA’s specialised insurance-focused ecosystem makes it unique. Along with strong academics, the campus provides well-maintained hostels, sports facilities, seminar halls, and Lloyd’s Café, which is a great space for informal discussions and bonding with peers.

Careers360: Give us a glimpse of the daily routine followed by you at the NIA Campus.
    Ramit Singh:
My day usually starts with lectures and case discussions. After classes, we work on group assignments or Admission Committee tasks. We often attend guest lectures and conclaves. Evenings are spent preparing for the next day or relaxing with friends at Lloyd’s Café.

Careers360: If you were to rate one favourite thing at the NIA Campus, what would it be?
    Ramit Singh:
One of my favourite things about NIA is the teaching staff, especially faculty members who come directly from the insurance industry. Their practical insights, real case experiences, and industry perspective make classroom learning more relatable, updated, and closely aligned with actual market practices.

Careers360: How would you rate the campus facilities?
    Ramit Singh:
I would rate the campus facilities very positively. The classrooms, library, hostels, sports amenities, and student spaces are well maintained and support both academic focus and overall development.

Careers360: Which areas do you think can do with some improvement?
    Ramit Singh:
While academics and industry exposure are strong, introducing more entrepreneurship-related initiatives or cross-sector collaborations could further broaden students’ perspectives and opportunities.

Careers360: What is your opinion on peer groups at NIA?
    Ramit Singh:
Peer groups at NIA are supportive and academically driven. Since most students share a common interest in insurance and management, discussions are meaningful. Over time, classmates become close friends as well as valuable professional connections.

Careers360: How has the On-the-Job Training contributed to your learning?
    Ramit Singh:
My On-the-Job Training at New India Assurance helped me understand underwriting and claims processes in a practical setting. It connected classroom concepts to real operations and strengthened my confidence about working in the insurance industry.

Careers360: What are some activities related to and focused on the NIA PGDM?
    Ramit Singh:
The PGDM program includes case-based learning, workshops, research discussions, industry guest lectures, regular conclaves, and structured On-the-Job Training. These activities ensure we gain both theoretical clarity and practical exposure.

Careers360: What are the regular events held at the NIA campus?
    Ramit Singh:
NIA regularly organises industry conclaves, seminars, guest lectures, cultural events, and sports activities. These events provide networking opportunities and keep campus life engaging alongside rigorous academic preparation.
