Careers360: Tell us about yourself and what made you choose the College as your alma mater?

Yashasvi Garg: Myself Yashasvi Garg. I’m an MBA student at IBS Dehradun, and I’ve always been passionate about learning how businesses actually work - from strategy and marketing to leadership and decision-making. I chose IBS because of its strong reputation, practical approach to teaching, and peaceful campus. The case-based learning method and industry-oriented curriculum really convinced me that this was the right place to shape my future.

Careers360: How would you describe the overall academic atmosphere on campus?

Yashasvi Garg: The environment pushes you to think critically and participate actively in discussions. Classes are never just lectures - they’re conversations that make you apply theories to real business problems. There’s always something happening that keeps you motivated to learn and grow.

Careers360: Do you find the library, labs, and digital resources sufficient for your academic needs?

Yashasvi Garg: Yes. The library is like a treasure for management students, from case studies and journals to digital databases. The Wi-Fi and online resources are reliable, and everything we need for research or assignments is easily available. It definitely supports a serious study routine.

Careers360: How approachable and supportive are the faculty members outside the classroom?

Yashasvi Garg: The faculty here is one of the best parts of IBS Dehradun. They’re not just teachers - they’re mentors. You can walk up to them anytime for guidance, whether it’s about academics, internships, or even personal doubts. Their support has genuinely made a difference in my confidence and clarity.

Careers360: Are there opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, research, or innovation?

Yashasvi Garg: Yes, IBS encourages us to explore beyond our core subjects. We get to work on projects that mix finance, marketing, and HR concepts. There are also research assignments and presentations that make you think innovatively. Many of us even develop startup ideas during group projects - it’s quite inspiring!

Careers360: What student clubs, committees, or organisations are most active and engaging?

Yashasvi Garg: There’s always something happening through the clubs, whether it’s the Marketing Club, HR Club, or Finance Club. Each one organises events, competitions, and workshops that really help in applying what we learn in class. I’ve personally enjoyed participating in marketing-related activities - they’re super fun and full of learning.

Careers360: Are events like cultural fests, sports meets, and social activities held regularly at IBS Dehradun?

Yashasvi Garg: Yes, and they’re one of the highlights of campus life! Sports events, mock youth parliament bring the whole campus together. I participated in the last mock youth parliament, and it was such a memorable experience - full of learning, knowledge sharing with peers. It’s a great balance to the academic intensity.

Careers360: Do you have a favourite spot on campus? If so, what is it, and why does it stand out to you?

Yashasvi Garg: Definitely the main lawn area! It’s so calm and scenic - surrounded by greenery and fresh air. It’s my go-to place to sit with friends, discuss ideas, or just relax after a busy day of classes. It kind of gives you that perfect mix of peace and inspiration.

Careers360: How effective is the career services/placement cell in guiding and preparing students?

Yashasvi Garg: The placement cell is very dedicated. They guide us from the very beginning - with resume building, mock interviews, and soft-skill sessions. They also arrange corporate talks and alumni interactions, which help us understand industry expectations. Their constant follow-up and mentoring really help us feel ready for placements.

Careers360: What challenges do you face in balancing academics with extracurricular activities?

Yashasvi Garg: Time management is the biggest challenge. MBA life is fast-paced, and balancing classes, assignments, and club activities can get hectic. But over time, you learn how to prioritise and manage your schedule. It’s challenging, but it also teaches you discipline and multitasking skills that matter a lot in the real world.

Careers360: Are there any suggestions/improvements you would like to see to make campus life better?

Yashasvi Garg: Maybe a few more industry visits or live projects with local businesses would be great - it would give us more exposure to real-world situations.

Careers360: What is one memory from your time at the college that you think you’ll cherish the most after you graduate?

Yashasvi Garg: My favourite memory is sitting with my friends on campus after our last presentation of the semester. We were exhausted but so happy - laughing, clicking pictures, and reflecting on how much we’d grown in just a few months. That sense of togetherness and accomplishment is something I’ll always remember.

Careers360: Would you recommend this campus to future students? Please state your reasons.

Yashasvi Garg: Without a doubt, yes! IBS Dehradun gives you everything - strong academics, supportive faculty, a beautiful campus, and a chance to grow both personally and professionally. It’s not just about getting a degree; it’s about becoming a better version of yourself. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone serious about building a strong management career.
