Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background like graduation, place and any such thing)

Siddhant: My name is Siddhant Jain, I am pursuing PGPM from ICFAI Business School Gurgaon. I am a resident of Delhi. I completed my B. Com from the University of Delhi.

Recently at IBS Gurgaon, I received an appreciation award for my summer internship project on “Performance Evaluation of Energy Sector Mutual Funds” that I completed in my internship organization AZ Capital, an investment advisory firm.

I also received a certificate for exceptional participation and contribution to the organization's growth by AZ Capital.

Careers360: Tell us something about your IBS campus and what made you choose it

Siddhant: IBS Gurgaon has played a significant role in my development. I have always wanted to join a college where I can see myself transforming into a corporate professional, and I feel really fortunate to fulfil my desire and accomplish so much more by pursuing a management course from IBS Gurgaon. Earlier, I just heard about the pedagogy of case studies, presentations, industries oriented curriculum etc. followed at IBS G, but when I experienced it myself as a student Then, I experienced the whole process and realized how true it was.

    Quick Links:

Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at IBS and what made you choose this specialisation?

Siddhant: I am pursuing a major specialization in Finance with minor specialization in Analytics. Since childhood, I used to hear my father talk about his business performance, the profits and losses, turnover etc. This slowly and gradually developed my interest in finance. Analytics is what the global industries are currently demanding and looking for, hence the combination of the two would be the best for me in my opinion.

Careers360: Summer internship is mandatory in all IBS campuses. Where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?

Siddhant: I pursued my summer internship at AZ Capital, an investment advisory firm. The duration of the internship was 14 weeks. In the selection process, 3 rounds of selection were conducted- - the resume screening, the group interview with the business head of AZ Capital, and the personal interview with the founder himself.

Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?

Siddhant: I got great support from my faculty guide who helped me in each step of my internship journey and helped me in the preparation of my project report. I got a great help from the placement office during the process of internship and I could later articulate my learnings well.

Careers360: How was your experience with the summer internships? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?

Siddhant: My summer internship experience was amazing, it was way too insightful and I was able to learn the best industry practices. The key takeaways were the fiduciary compliance of any investment advisory firm, that is to keep the client's interest above our own interest and to keep all the transactions and working true and fair that is in accordance with the compliance of SEBI.
