CAT Cutoff 2016 by PT Education: After appearing for the CAT 2016 exam on December 4, the test takers would be anxious to know about the expected cutoff for the test. Hence, even before the official announcement, Careers360 brings you expert inputs on the expected CAT 2016 cut off from top coaching institutes of India. This article of Careers360 brings to you the CAT cut off 2016 by PT Education.

Although most of the IIMs have already released their admission criteria and others are underway, the non-IIM B-schools announce their CAT 2016 cutoff. As per trend, non-IIM B-schools will declare their CAT 2016 cutoff after the result is declared in the second week of January, 2017. On the other hand, based on the cutoffs, MBA aspirants would decide the top B-schools accepting CAT scores, where they would be applying for admission.

The cutoff for CAT 2016 would depend on several factors which include difficulty level of the exam, number of test takers, B-School intake among others. Experts from PT Education will analyse these factors before deducing the sectional and overall CAT 2016 cutoff.

The top B-schools are most likely to be above 90 percentile. In fact, despite declaring the admission criteria in advance, even IIMs might change the CAT cut off 2016 depending on the above factors.

Here we bring to you last year’s CAT cut off as predicted by PT Education.

how many iim does not take PI WAT?

SAKSHI KULSHRESHTHA 7th Dec, 2019

Hi Swapnil

Most IIMs take WAT or the written ability test where one is given around 15- 30 minutes to write an essay on any given topic. Only two IIMs- Kozhikode and Shillong take GD. But all of them conduct Personal Interview or PI.

The weightage of CAT score, academic qualifications, work experience, GD/ WAT and PI differs from college to college. You can find the detailed list on the given link: https://www.imsindia.com/CAT/iims-shortlisting-criteria.html

i m a sc candidate my overall cat percentile is 70 and 10th standard scored 10 cgpa,12th 82.33 and btech,7.43. can i expect any iim calll

Rohit 7th Dec, 2019

Dear aspirant

Whether you get a CAT call depend upon a lot of factors.First of it depends on which IIM you are looking to get into.Your grades in 10nth 12th and BTech is very good. But your CAT score is a little low.But it doesn't matter.IIMs like Indore give more weightage to your 10nth and 12th marks. Some don't even consider your undergraduate marks. So it all depends.I think you have a good chance of getting a CAP call for sure. All the best

I have a raw score of 118 slot 2 in CAT 2019 ith 22 marks in DILR. What are my chances of calls from various colleges? I am a general category female engg student.

Rohit 7th Dec, 2019

Your chance of getting a common CAP call for the new IIM s is high.I think 22 in DILR is enough for you to make the sectional cutoff. All the best.Hope i was able to help.

hi i am nc-obc female candidate .my 10 percentage is 96 and 12th percentage is 92 graduation 7.42 and cat percentile in range 80 to 83 .which iim call can i expect

KUNAL LANJEWAR 6th Dec, 2019

Hello Pooja,

Your academic career seems very good.  You have done good in CAT. 80 - 83 Percentile range shows that you can definitely expect IIM.

Talking about IIMs, as you might have researched about the last few years' cutoff, the cutoff for OBC of all IIMs range from 80 Percentile and above.

As per the rankings of IIMs, the top five IIMs are-

1. IIM Bangalore

2. IIM Ahmedabad

3. IIM Lucknow

4. IIM Calcutta

5. IIM Tiruchirappalli

You should definitely give priority for the above five IIMs and try to get admission there. Considering last few years' cutoff, you should definitely get admission in any of the IIMs.

Best wishes.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 6th Dec, 2019
Hello,

There are 2 sections in NIFT entrance 2020

  1. Creative Ability Test (CAT)
  2. General Ability Test (GAT)

Candidates who wish to get admission in B.Des must appear for both GAT and CAT. Candidates who seek admission in B.F.Tech you need to only appear for GAT. Those qualify the tests have to appear for situation test. So yes, if you want to get admission in B.Des then you need to appear for GAT and CAT.
