CMAT Counselling 2025 for MBA Admissions in Madhya Pradesh: Dates, Process & Documents

The CMAT does not have the counselling process for the academic year 2025-26 of their own. However, management colleges in Madhya Pradesh will begin MBA admissions through the CMAT counselling process after the release of the CMAT 2025 results. DTE is expected to begin the CMAT 2025 counselling registration from June 16, 2025. Applicants who qualify in the CMAT exam and meet the CMAT cutoff marks can register for the MP CMAT counselling 2025. CMAT Counselling 2025
The CMAT result 2025 will be declared soon by NTA. The CMAT counselling for all the CMAT-accepting colleges will take place together. The CMAT counselling or admission process is conducted individually by the participating MBA colleges. There is no common counselling process for CMAT. Thus candidates will have to apply for different colleges separately. After the declaration of the CMAT result, the accepting colleges decide the admission cut-offs and conduct the selection process according to their own schedule.
Over 1,300 B-schools in India accept CMAT score for MBA/PGDM admissions. The CMAT counselling process consists of Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by B-schools separately. The institutions accepting CMAT scores individually decide the CMAT cut offs and selection criteria for MBA admissions.

CMAT Counselling Process 2025: Overview
When it comes to the counselling process for CMAT, candidates need to understand that there is no such centralized process. Once the CMAT 2025 results are declared, the individual participating colleges will release their respective CMAT cutoff list 2025. The colleges also have their own set of eligibility criteria. Candidates having the required cutoff score/percentile and satisfying the respective institute’s eligibility criteria can proceed to apply for admission.
The colleges will shortlist cutoff-clearing candidates based on their applications. Further, shortlisted candidates will be required to go through Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Final shortlisting of candidates will be done based on their performance in these evaluation rounds. Finally, the shortlisted candidates will be allowed to proceed with the remaining steps of the admission process.
Eligibility Criteria for CMAT Counselling 2025
The candidates wishing to seek admission to various CMAT-accepting colleges through CMAT 2025 must satisfy the eligibility criteria that are listed below.
- A valid CMAT 2025 scorecard.
- CMAT 2025 score is required at par with the CMAT 2025 cutoff.
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
- Work experience in the case of certain colleges.

Steps Involved in the CMAT Selection Process 2025
Check out below the steps involved in the CMAT 2025 selection process.
Step 1: Profile Shortlisting
The first step in the CMAT 2025 selection process is profile shortlisting. The profile of candidates whose score is at par with the desired cutoff score/percentile are screened in. These shortlisted candidates will further be assessed by different colleges through a series of evaluation rounds.
Step 2: Group Discussion (GD) Round
This round is designed to test the shortlisted candidates on the grounds of communication skills, leadership ability, idea generation, and public speaking. The round involves a bunch of candidates debating or discussing a given topic. The candidates are generally divided into groups that compete with each other to get the best points.
Step 3: Personal Interview (PI) Round
This round is considered the most important when it comes to assessing the personality of a candidate. It is a face-to-face round where a panel of teachers and professionals interact with the candidate and try to let the candidate express themselves freely. Candidates are expected to present themselves professionally and counter the questions asked to the best of their knowledge and ability.
Step 4: Final Merit List
The last step of the selection process involves the preparation of a final merit list based on the performance of candidates in the CMAT exam and different evaluation rounds. It might be in a score or a rank format. The candidates getting a spot in this final merit list will finally proceed with the remaining admission process like fee submission and campus accommodation.

The cutoff for colleges accepting CMAT scores is the most important thing to know for CMAT candidates. It will not only give them an advantage when choosing the right college but also is an important metric in analysing the test performance. 1. How to apply for CMAT counselling?
The CMAT does not have a centralised counselling process like other entrance exams. Candidates will need to check for the cutoff declaration by different colleges and apply for the ones they have adequate marks. Candidates wishing to apply for more than one college will need to apply individually.
2. What is the process of CMAT selection?
The CMAT selection process varies from college to college. A few evaluation rounds like Group Discussions and Personal Interview remain the same. After the evaluation of candidates through different assessment rounds, the final merit list will be prepared. Candidates securing a place in this list will be asked to go further with completing the admission formalities.
3. Does CMAT have an interview?
Colleges accepting CMAT scores for admission to their MMS/MBA/PGDM courses have a Personal Interview round for examining the candidates. This is almost a mandatory round for every college. Performance in this round along with others are weighted together for the final shortlisting of candidates.
4. Is 200 a good score in CMAT?
A score of 200 on the CMAT exam would generally yield an average percentile of somewhere between 71 to 80. Though, not the best but still manageable enough to secure a decent college with overall fair infrastructure and placement.

If you want to join the MCA program at LD College of Engineering (LDCE) in Ahmedabad and have given the CMAT 2025 exam, here’s what you should know. The admission mainly depends on your CMAT score and the rank you get after the score is converted for Gujarat’s ACPC counseling.
Last year, the closing rank for general category students at LDCE for MCA was around 20,000 in the counseling rounds. So, if your CMAT score gives you a rank close to or better than that, you have a good chance of getting in.
Keep in mind that the exact cutoff changes every year depending on how many students apply and how they perform. Also, if you belong to any reserved category, the cutoff might be a bit lower.

No, not all MBA programs require these tests. These are merely entrance exams that are accepted by a lot of universities. Depending on the college you wish to attend, you can take any of them (such as MAH CET, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, or ATMA).
Additionally, some universities have entrance exams of their own. Therefore, for the majority of MBA admissions, you only need to take one appropriate exam. To find out which tests the college accepts, always visit their website.

It may be challenging to gain admission to an MBA program through common entrance based on rank if you have not taken the CMAT. Don't worry, though! Additionally, a lot of colleges offer direct admission based on your graduation grades or through state-level exams, MAT, or XAT.

It is possible to gain admission to certain MBA programs without taking the CMAT exam. Based on your prior grades or interviews, a lot of private colleges grant direct admission. Other tests, such as the CAT, MAT, or GMAT, are accepted by some universities.
However, CMAT or other tests are typically required for government or elite colleges. It is best to inquire about the rules of the college you wish to attend. Therefore, you still have some options even if you don't have CMAT!
