The CMAT scorecard is valid for one year only, after which it will be nullified. After the release of the CMAT merit list, the counselling process for PGDM/ MBA will take place. CMAT is one of the reputed national management entrance exams held every year for admission to MBA courses. Several top B-schools accept CMAT scores. Prestigious colleges like NIBM Pune, Welingkar, SIMSREE, JBIMS, KJ Somaiya, XISS Ranchi, IMT Hyderabad, BIMTECH, and PUMBA accept the scores of CMAT 2026 for their MBA/ PGDM programs.

How to download the CMAT 2026 Merit List?
NTA will release the merit list of CMAT 2026 online mode. Candidates who appeared for the CMAT can view and download the CMAT 2026 merit list using the steps as follows:
Step 1 - Visit the official website of NTA
Step 2 - Click on the tab ‘CMAT Merit List 2026’
Step 3 - The screen will display the complete merit list in PDF Format
Step 4 - To search for a name press ‘Ctrl+F’
Step 5 - Type the name to be searched and verify the name with the roll number.

How CMAT Merit List is prepared?
CMAT merit list is prepared as per the scores obtained by the candidates and the NTA score calculation formula is used to know the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR).
The score of the candidate will be calculated as per the marking scheme of CMAT 2026, i.e.,
For every correct answer, 4 marks will be allotted, and
For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted
The NTA score indicates the percentage of students who have a score equal to or below, which is calculated as per the following formula:
Equation: 100*Number of students who appeared in the examination with raw marks equal to or less than the student/ Total number of candidates who appeared.
NOTE- Candidates must know that the NTA score is not an aggregate of the individual subjects and is not similar to that the percentage of marks obtained.
CMAT Tie-breaker Criteria 2026
In case two or more candidates secure the same marks and percentile in CMAT, then in such a case the tie-breaking policy will be implemented. Check out all the parameters of the CMAT tiebreaker.
- The order of preference given to the section is Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation > Logical Reasoning > Language Comprehension > General Awareness.

Yes, DSM DTU (Delhi Technological University, Department of Management Studies) does accept CMAT score for admission to its MBA programme. Many management institutes in India use CMAT as one of the valid entrance exams along with CAT, MAT, or GMAT, and DTU’s management department is among those that consider CMAT scores during the selection process. When you apply, your CMAT percentile will be used along with your academic record, group discussion or writing ability test and personal interview performance to decide your final merit for admission.
Nirma University also accepts CMAT scores for its MBA and related management programmes. Like most private and state universities, Nirma University uses multiple national and state level entrance exams as part of its eligibility and shortlisting criteria, and CMAT is commonly included in that list. After shortlisting based on the entrance score, institutes typically conduct further rounds such as group discussion or personal interview before final selection.
Because both DSM DTU and Nirma University consider CMAT, your preparation for CMAT can be beneficial if you want to keep your options open for MBA admissions. You have scored 92 percentile in CMAT, which is a good score, and you have a higher chance of getting admission into a good college. But, if you're targeting only SVNIT Surat, then it's quite tough because SVNIT usually looks for a higher score for the PG course, like MBA. You should focus on the other top colleges.

With an 80 percentile in CMAT, you can get admission in decent Tier-2 MBA colleges.
Good options include Jaipuria Institute, IMT Nagpur/Hyderabad, SDMIMD Mysore, and XIME.
Top IIMs are not possible, but these colleges offer reasonable placements and exposure.
