DU JAT Eligibility CriteriaDU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2017: The eligibility criteria of DU JAT 2017 is prescribed by the official test conducting body- Delhi University. The application form filling process must be started only after checking the DU JAT 2017 eligibility criteria by every aspirant. As per the criteria, a candidate who has passed higher secondary from a recognised board is eligible to apply and later appear in DU JAT 2017. According to the officials, there are no additional eligibility criteria for DU JAT, for any category in any college/course. The minimum required passing percentage in any best of the four subjects by the candidates should be 60 per cent. Details about DU JAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria

  1. Every aspirant must have passed in the March/April board examinations, conducted by a recognised board, to be eligible to appear in the test. The Senior Secondary School Examination must be of CBSE or any other examination which is considered equivalent by the University of Delhi.

  2. Candidates who have appeared in the senior secondary examinations and are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.

  3. Candidates belonging to the General Category should have an aggregate of minimum 60% in four papers including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by the University of Delhi.

  4. The minimum percentage requirement for SC, ST, CW and PwD category candidates is 55 per cent in each of the four papers considered for computing the aggregate.

  5. In case of students awaiting their board results, they need to produce the confirmed result and marksheet of the qualifying examination on the day of the DU JAT 2017 Counselling/ Selection Procedure for admission in BMS/BBA (FIA)/ B.A (Hons) Business Economics programs.

  6. Candidates without any result confirmation marksheets would not be considered as eligible, and will not be allowed for admissions.

  7. In case of candidates belonging to any other category except general (OBC-non creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD/CW), they need to produce their category certificate at the final admission stage.

  8. Candidates with compartment in any of the subjects are not eligible as per the DU JAT eligibility criteria 2017.

  9. Also, candidates who have appeared for XII class improvement papers are not eligible to apply for DU JAT for the current year. They may apply next year.

DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2017 for Foreign Students: Foreign Students seeking admission to BMS/BBA (FIA)/BA(Hons) Business Economics course(s) against the prescribed quota of seats earmarked for them, shall have to apply through the Foreign Students Advisor as per the University of Delhi rules.

Candidates must also note that the Senior School Certificate of various Boards must be recognised by Association of Indian Universities / Central Board of Secondary Education for the purposes of DU JAT eligibility to various undergraduate courses.

 

DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2017 - Reservation of Seats for Scheduled Caste/Tribe Candidates

  • A total of 22½ per cent of the total numbers of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) - 15% for SC and 7½% for ST.

  • Relaxation to the extent of 5% in the minimum marks will be given to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) to determine their eligibility and merit for admission to the course concerned.

DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2017 - Reservation of Seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC)

  • 27% seats will be reserved for the candidates belonging to the OBC category.

  • Also, at the time of giving admission to this category candidates, the college must ensure that the students do not belong to non-creamy layer and is included n the central list.

  • OBC candidates will be given a relaxation of 10% in the minimum eligibility marks of the said course and in the admission entrance test, 10 per cent of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for General Category candidates.

What after checking the Eligibility Criteria of DU JAT 2017?

 

Once you have checked your eligibility status, the next step for you is to fill in DU JAT Application Form and register for the test from June 16, 2017 till June 25. DU JAT Admit Card 2017 was released on July 4, 2017. DU JAT 2017 was held on July 9, 2017 from 12 noon to 2 PM. Only registered candidates were allowed to appear in the test.
