How to Register for CAT 2025: Step-by-Step Guide

Take a look at the following step-by-step CAT registration process that will help you in filling out the application form.

• Step 1: Visit the CAT official website, iimcat.ac.in. Next, you will need to click on ‘New Candidate Registration’ and enter the following details: Name (as per Class 10 Certificate), Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile number and Nationality.

*Note: All domestic candidates will receive an OTP, which will be sent to their email address and mobile number. Whereas, for international candidates, they will receive an OTP on their email address only.

• Step 3: Once you have verified yourself, you will receive a User ID and password on your registered email and phone number.

• Step 4: Next, you will need to login with your credentials and complete the detailed CAT application form, which will include: Personal details, Academic qualifications (10th, 12th and Graduation), Work Experience (if applicable), Choice of IIMs and programs and Test City Preferences (you can choose max. 6 cities).

To complete the registration process, you will need to generate the OTP by clicking on the ‘Generate OTP' button.’ After which, you will be redirected to CAPTCHA, which you will need to fill out and submit.

• Step 5: Once you move ahead, you will need to upload the scanned images of the following documents: passport-size photograph (JPEG/JPG, 30 KB -200 KB), signature (JPEG/JPG, 30 KB -200 KB) and caste/disability certificates (if applicable).

After you have completed and submitted the CAT 2025 registration form, within a few minutes, you will receive your Login Details on the registered email address from the Administrator with the subject line: CAT 2025 Successful Registration. Make sure you check your mailbox immediately. If you do not receive the email within a reasonable period, you must check your spam folder.

You will also receive the Login Details as an SMS on the registered mobile number from the sender IIMCJO (Not applicable for overseas candidates).

CAT 2025 Registration Fees

After you have completed filling the application form, you will need to pay the CAT registration fees, which can be paid via debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking. The following is the CAT registration fee, which you will need to pay (for each category).

*Note: Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Once you have reviewed your CAT application form for one last time, you must hit the ‘submit’ button. You must wait till you get the confirmation email, after which your registration will be complete.

Documents Required for CAT Registration

To register for the upcoming CAT 2025 exam, candidates must ensure that they have the documents required for CAT registration with them. The following is the list:

• Scanned copies of a passport-size photograph and a signature

• Educational documents (Class 10, 12 and graduation certificate)

• Category certificates (if applicable)

• Work Experience certificate (if applicable). You will need to enter your experience in days as on July 31, 2025. Make sure you check all the Industry Types applicable to you. Keep in mind that only full-time experience after graduation must be entered.

Make sure the photo and signature that you submit are in the specified format (.jpg or jpeg) and are in the size (less than 80 KB). The passport-size photograph should not be more than six months old and should have a white background.

• All candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (or equivalent CGPA) from a recognised university. Students in their final year of graduation or those awaiting results can also apply for the exam.

• There is no upper age limit for taking the CAT 2025 exam. Moreover, professional degree holders like CA/CS/ICWA are eligible to apply.

• Having work experience is not mandatory for the CAT application; however, candidates having some work experience will be considered a plus point.

• There are no specific nationality restrictions mentioned in the CAT eligibility criteria.

• Lastly, 5% of seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

CAT 2025 Application Correction Window

Once the CAT 2025 registrations end, one can expect the CAT 2025 application correction window to be opened in the last week of September 2025. During this period, candidates will be allowed to make changes to their photograph, signature and test city preferences. Important Guidelines for CAT Registration 2025

Make sure you enter a working email ID and mobile number, which will be used for all official communication (login credentials, adit card alerts, result updates). You must avoid using someone else’s email ID or a temporary email service.

Accurate Personal Details

Ensure that your name, date of birth and academic details match with your official documents (Class 10, 12 and Graduation mark sheets). Any incorrect data will lead to the cancellation of candidature at later stages.

Document Upload Requirements

Choose Exam Cities Wisely
