This year IIM Sambalpur MBA admission session sees a combined total of 49% non-engineers getting admission into its 2 management degree courses. As the gap shrinks, this provokes the thought of whether engineering no longer dominates in IIM MBA admission or not. In the 2025-2027 sessions began, 363 students entered the IIM Sambalpur for the IIM Sambalpur MBA in Business Analytics (MBA-BA) and IIM Sambalpur MBA programs.

If one looks at the MBA academic diversity at these two courses separately, then the scenario would be much clearer to us.

While students got admitted to IIM Sambalpur from all over India, according to a recent India Today report, Maharashtra (13%) and Uttar Pradesh (12%) respectively top the state representation during this admission session. EWS eligibility for CAT 2025-26 hinges on current financial records, but a renewed certificate is required for final IIM admissions. If future income exceeds the 8 lakh threshold, candidates will likely lose EWS status and be reclassified to the General category rather than facing seat cancellation.
