On behalf of the institute, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the IIFT exam. NTA's only responsibility is to administer the test and prepare the results. The admissions committee chooses which prospects to admit. The exam is comparable to other MBA admission examinations offered in India. The Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness sections comprise the IIFT question paper. According to the Acadmic Eligibility criteria  for IIFT the aspirant must possess Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years’ duration in any discipline with at least 50 percent aggregate (45 per cent for SC/ST and PwD candidates) from a recognised university

It is true that more than 90+ percentage in academics will get call from IIM if they score 90+ percentile in CAT but Average academic record is not a barrier in getting IIM.your marks is not good but not that poor either try to score more than 99 percentile to get call from top IIMs.if you score 97 percentile you can get call from old IIM'S like IIM lucknow,IIFT,FMS DELHI.
