In the CAT 2024 Examination, the Admit Card is one of the useful things that the applicant needs to carry even for applicants with visual impairments. Not only does the CAT 2024 Admit Card contain useful information about those applicants with visual impairments. and exams, but it also works as a hall ticket. Without the CAT 2024 Admit Card, no one will be allowed to appear for the examination. So the applicants need to print the admit card(s) and carry it with them on the day of the examination.
However, the applicants with visual impairments first and foremost, need to carefully cross-check the admit card after they have downloaded the CAT 2024 Admit Card. They must have filled out and uploaded the required documents, needed for the CAT examination. Apart from that, visually impaired applicants need to fill in forms like Scribe Affidavit, and Certificate of Disability (Form V). These documents are needed for the day of examination along with their photographs and signatures or thumb impressions. These documents need to be carried out and produced at the time of the examinations. Without these documents, relaxations like scribes or extra time might not be given to the visually impaired Candidates. These forms can be downloaded from the official website- iimcat.ac.in.
Note: The PwD/DA candidates need 45% of marks in their respective Bachelor's Degrees to apply for the CAT 2024 Exam. Apart from that, they get 20 minutes extra on each exam hours, which make the total time of 160 (120+40) minutes to complete their CAT 2024 Examinations.
The actual duration of the CAT exam is 2 hours (40 minutes per section). Candidates with visual impairments get 20 minutes extra on each exam hour, which makes the total time to complete the exam-160 minutes.
Looking at the past trends, the 60 percentile can be enough for the visually impaired candidate.
The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act of 2016 reserves 5% of IIM seats for PWD candidates which includes applicants with visual impairments
The Fee for the CAT exam for PwD/DA applicants which includes applicants with visual impairments is Rs. 1250.
