There has been a modification in terms of the total duration of the examination. XAT 2019 was conducted in 3 hours, from 10 AM to 1 PM. Until last year the exam was conducted in 3:35 hours. Additionally, there has been a major alteration pertaining to the XAT exam pattern 2019. The Essay Writing section has been removed completely; XAT 2019 exam pattern consists of four sections, instead of five, namely, Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI), General Knowledge (GK). Previous year, the difficulty level of XAT was moderate to tough. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation section was the toughest, followed by Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning. The Decision Making section was the easiest among all. Post examination, the candidates will be eager to know the XAT 2019 analysis and expected cutoff to estimate their scores. Careers360, in this article, will provide XAT 2019 analysis based on subject-experts and test takers' feedback.

Changes introduced in XAT 2019

  • XAT Exam Pattern 2019- Essay Writing section has been removed from XAT 2019. Now the exam has four sections. They are Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI), General Knowledge (GK).
  • Change of XAT Test Centre 2019- Agartala has been removed. Now the exam will be held across 46 cities in India. This year, XLRI had allowed the candidates to change their XAT Test city preference. They could write an email to [email protected] mentioning their XAT ID, Date of Birth, Father's Name, City Chosen and updated city requesting for the change until the stipulated date. A candidate could apply for the change only once. However, the change of XAT test city option was provisional and XLRI's decision to allot test centres and cities was considered final.
  • Test Duration- XAT 2019 will be conducted in three (3) hours duration on January 6, 2019. Until last year the exam duration was 3:35 hours.
  • Application Fee- The application fee has been revised from Rs. 1650/- to Rs. 1700/- from this year onward (XAT 2019)
