XAT 2025 Marks for 90 Percentile: XAT, regarded as one of the crucial examinations, was held on January 5, 2025. While the students are waiting for other exam results to be published, they are also getting anxious about how many marks are required to get 90 percentile in XAT 2025. It is being said that the XAt 2025 was a bit tougher than the previous ones and the cut-offs can go downhill. Read this article to find out how many marks are required to get 90 percentile in XAT 2025.
Latest: XAT 2025 College Predictor
It is important for the candidates, who appeared for the XAT exam, earlier in January, to understand what the XAT score is. The candidates, looking into the query of how many marks are required to get 90 percentile also have to have a clearer understanding of the XAT score and how it is calculated. XAT score is a candidate's raw score in the XAT exam. It is based on performance in the following sections: 1. Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR) 2. Decision Making (DM) 3. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI) and General Knowledge. However, the GK section has no negative marking and is not counted in the percentile while it is considered for the selection process.
Once students understand what the XAT score is, the next question that comes to the minds of the students who are curious to know how many marks are required to get the 90 percentile, is how the XAT score is calculated. The XAT scores are calculated based on the number of correct answers and incorrect answers. Go through the following steps to understand how the XAT score is calculated.
Admissions Open | Globally Recognized by AACSB (US) & AMBA (UK) | 17.3 LPA Avg. CTC for PGPM 2024 | Application Deadline: 1st Dec 2024
250+ Companies | Highest CTC 16 LPA | Average CTC 8 LPA | Ranked as Platinum Institute by AICTE for 6 years in a row | Awarded Best Business School of the Year
For Each correct answer, the applicant is awarded 1 mark.
For Each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted from the total marks.
Students can skip 8 questions. 0.10 marks are deducted for each unattempted after 8 skipped questions.
The raw scores for each section are calculated separately.
These sectional scores are added to calculate the total XAT score.
Let’s understand this by an example:
If a candidate answers 80 questions with 60 correct 20 incorrect, and 15 unanswered, their total raw score is:
(60 x 1) - (20 x 0.25) - {(15-8) x 0.10)}= 54.3
The Raw score in the case of XAT is different from the XAT percentile. There is a clear distinction between the XAT RAW score and the XAT percentile. The XAT percentile is not directly proportional to the score, however, a slight increase in the XAT raw score can lead to a significant jump in the percentile which would in turn increase the chances of getting selected at the desired B-Schools for the MBA courses. The candidates who are willing to learn how many marks are required to get 90 percentile in the XAT, should keep in mind that the XAT percentile indicates a candidate's ‘relative performance’ when compared to all the other candidates who appeared for the exam.
Total number of candidates who have registered for XAT 2025 are 142,235. If we assume that all of them had appeared for the examination then the XAT percentile is calculated based on the scores and ranking of the candidates who appeared for the examination, in comparison to any particular candidate. Here is the process to calculate the XAT percentile.
Percentile = [(N - Rank) / N] x 100 ( where N is the total number of the candidate who appeared for the exam while, the rank is the candidate's rank based on their total XAT score.)
It is being argued that the XAT 2025 was a bit tougher than the previous ones, So one could expect that the Cut-off of the XAT 2025 will be on the lower side. Hello,
Yes, you can also join IIMs two years after graduation, depending upon the justification in interviews and your performance in entrance exams. If you are not sure about CAT, try those other management exams less hard:
Common Management Admission Test: Easier than CAT; 4-5 months of continuous preparation will suffice.
MAT : Much easier and takes place thrice a year.
SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test): A bit easier than CAT, apt for Symbiosis Institutes.
Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT : Hence, easier than CAT but the unique decision-making section.
Use exams like CMAT and MAT as a challenge to be competitively prepared. This can be given about 4-5 months, along with a few rounds of mock tests and smart studying.
