MAH MBA CET counselling process, officially called the MBA Centralised Admission Process (CAP) round, which conducts the MAH MBA CET CAP in three rounds in Maharashtra to over 300 colleges across the state.   • Candidates should be Indian citizens.
  • Candidates should have done their graduation (3-year Bachelor’s degree) or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in total aggregate. There is a relaxation of 5% to those who belong to the reserved category and persons with disabilities belonging to Maharashtra state only.
  • Also, candidates must have secured more than zero marks in the MAH MBA CET 2026.
All Indian candidates (Including J & K migrant candidates

Step-by-Step Registration Process for MAH CET MBA CAP 2026

Let us look at each stage one by one to have a better understanding of the MAH CET MBA CAP registration 2026.

Stage 1- Registration

  • Step 1: Candidates have to further apply and register themselves for the counselling process. The registration can be done by candidates in online mode. To register themselves, candidates will have to enter their personal details like name, contact information, category, correspondence address, email ID, etc.
  • Step 2: Proceed further by filling in educational qualifications to participate in the Centralised Admission Process, i.e. MAH CET MBA CAP 2026.

Stage 2- Verification of Documents

  • Step 3: Candidates will be required to upload documents as per the specifications provided by the authorities.
  • Step 4: The State Common Entrance Test Cell will meanwhile release the provisional merit list of selected candidates. Those candidates who face any issues can submit their grievances. The Final Merit Lists will be displayed on the official website.
  • Step 5: Candidates will be able to see category-wise seats, i.e. the seat matrix for CAP Rounds I and further (if there will be any).

Stage 3- MBA CET Seat Allotment and Preference Filling

  • Step 6: Candidates will be given preferences for courses in which they wish to opt for and Institutions in which they wish to enrol before the MAH CET MBA CAP 2026 round one. The option form, once filled and confirmed by candidates, will be considered for allotment of CAP rounds without any further changes.
  • Step 7: The State Common Entrance Test Cell will display the provisional allotment list of CAP rounds. This list will indicate the institute and courses allotted to candidates. The allotment of seats by the State Common Entrance Test Cell will be based on the candidate’s scores in the MAH CET MBA 2026, Xavier’s Aptitude Test, MAT, GMAT, Common Admission Test, CMAT, ATMA, academic qualification, as well as other determining factors.

Stage 4- Apply for CAP, i.e. Centralised Admission Process

  • Step 8: Shortlisted candidates will have to report and, if agreed, then accept the seats offered according to the CAP allotment rounds by the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC).
  • Step 9: Around 300 to 340 FCs, i.e. Facilitation Centres in participating institutes of MAH CET MBA 2026 will be set up by the State Common Entrance Test Cell for admission in the year 2026-28
  • Step 10: If candidates are not satisfied with the allotment, they can surrender their seats to participate in the next MBA CET CAP round to get a better MBA college in Maharashtra State.

Availability of options for CAP 2026

In the MAH CET CAP rounds 2026, candidates will be given three options in the Common Admission Process of MAH CET MBA 2026:

(a) Freeze: Candidates who accept the seats offered to them and do not want to participate in any further rounds of seat allocation have the option to freeze their seats. Such candidates will not be called for further admission rounds.

(b) Slide/Float: Candidates who wish to accept the seat offered by the State Common Entrance Test Cell will have this option. Along with accepting, these candidates also indicate that if admission to the higher preference is offered, they will accept it. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent admission rounds and will be informed about the same.

With 42 percentile in MAH MBA CET, it is very difficult to get admission in good or top MBA colleges through CAP rounds. Most of the well-known colleges in Maharashtra like JBIMS, SIMSREE, Welingkar, and PUMBA usually take students who score more than 90 or 99 percentile. Even average colleges ask for at least 60 to 70 percentile.

With 42 percentile, you may get a seat in a very low-tier or less popular private college, but the chances are low in government or semi-government colleges.
