IIM Kozhikode has announced the criteria of admission for PGP batch of 2015-17. The B-School will follow a 2 stage admission procedure which includes shortlisting candidates through CAT scores and final selection on the basis of performance in Personal Interview.

The following table will share with you the CAT 2014 cutoff of IIM Kozhikode and the past academic records.

Aggregate Index Score

An Index Score is calculated on the basis of CAT scores and the past academic records.

 

CAT Index Score

Scaled Scores from both the sections (with equal weightages) of CAT 2014 will go into the computation of the CAT Index Score. CAT Index Score will carry a weight of 75%.

 

Graduation Index Score

Marks are allotted on the basis of the percentage obtained in the graduation or till the final year of graduation, in case the candidates are in the final year of graduation, their latest aggregate marks would be considered.

 

HSC/Std. XII Index Score

The percentage of marks obtained in HSC/Class XII would be the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the marks sheet or grade sheet, irrespective of whether the Board considers them for calculation of percentage.

 

The following table will share with you the index score calculation for Graduation and Class XII marks. The maximum score is 7.5.

Work Experience Index Score

Work experience carries a weightage of 5% depending on the number of years of experience as on January 31, 2015 and the relevance of it. Only fulltime managerial work experience after graduation will be considered. The following table gives you the Work Experience Index Score.

Diversity Index Score

According to IIM Kozhikode, to ensure diversity, marks will be awarded for diversity (gender (5%) or academic discipline (5%) related factors. A candidate is entitled to diversity score from only one factor.

  • Cost and Works Accountancy

  • Education [including Physical Education and Sports]

  • Hotel & Tourism Management

After combining all the component scores, the Aggregate Index Score is calculated for shortlisting the candidates.

The short‐listed candidates will have to register at IIMK website and complete the personal profile form online. Only those candidates who complete online registration at relevant stages will only be considered for the subsequent process.

 

Final Selection Process

In the final stage, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for GD/PI and WAT rounds. IIM Kozhikode mentions, “The short‐listed candidates will have to register at IIMK website and complete the personal profile form online. Only those candidates who complete online registration at relevant stages will only be considered for the subsequent process.”

I just appeared for the CAT 2020 and my projected percentile is around 88. I have CGPA 8.4 for 10th grade, 76.8 for 12th, and 6.78 CGPA for Graduation. I have 1 year of Work Experience as well. I would like to know if it is worth it to apply for XIMB. Usually the cutoff is around 90 percentile?

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. The cutoff for XIMB goes around 90 percentile every year. It could be high or low depending on the cutoff scores that varies every year. Since your score is near to 90 percentile and if you have a work experience that is worth considering for admission into MBA program. Then you can at least give it a try. You never know what will be the exact situation in the upcoming admission processes.

So, my suggest for you is to definitely give it a try.

What is the cutoff for OBC in CAT & XAT for IRMA ? What is the good percentile to get converted in IRMA for OBC NCL?

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that the cutoff varies every year. There are several factors determining the cutoff such as:-

  • Number of candidates appearing in IRMASAT 2020 exam.
  • Level of difficulty of  IRMASAT exam.
  • Number of candidates passing IRMASAT 2020

However, based on previous years cutoffs, it is expected that the Cat and XAT cutoff for OBC NCL candidates will be somewhere around 70 percentile. For your reference, I am sharing a link with you which consists of all the necessary information of the exam along with the expected cutoff.

Does Nirma University, Ahmedabad, consider CAT scores for admission in MBA?

Yes, they do consider CAT score for admissions.
For admissions, CAT score has a weightage of 60%, PI 20% and TDP 10% and academic performance 10%.
The last date for application is 26 December 2019.
Shortlisting of candidates will be done in February 2020.
You must have a graduate degree from a recognised university with aggregate score of 50%.

I am interested in IMI kolkata and Praxis kolkata. Which one is best? I score 61 masks in CAT 2019.

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you both are considered to be decent business schools in Kolkata. Praxis is focused more on Business Analytics specialization MBA. It has good curriculum along with many placement opportunities. But if you are looking for a general MBA program, then IMI could be a better option for you. IMI is considered to be one of the top business schools in West Bengal. Comparing the placement records and the the companies visiting the campus, IMI can be a better option for you.
