This interview with Annet N. Vinofa Kingsy is presented to you by Careers360. In this interview, Vinofa talks about campus life, placements, internships and at EPCHE, Bangalore.

Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Where are you from? What makes you want to pursue a master’s degree? What do you hope to achieve with an MBA degree?

Vinofa: I’m Annet N. Vinofa Kingsy from Tamil Nadu, currently pursuing my MBA at East Point College of Higher Education. I chose to pursue a Master’s degree to deepen my understanding of the business world and position myself for the career I aspire to, along with the lifestyle I envision.

An MBA provides the ideal platform to strengthen my leadership skills, enhance strategic thinking, and gain a comprehensive view of modern business practices. Through this program, I aim to build a successful career in management, contribute meaningfully to the organisations I work with, and eventually take on leadership roles that align with my professional goals and personal aspirations.

Careers360: Presently, which course are you pursuing and in which year? What has been your most rewarding academic experience so far?

Vinofa: I am currently in the final year of my MBA, specialising in Marketing and Logistics at East Point College of Higher Education, Bangalore. One of my most rewarding academic experiences has been applying theoretical concepts to real-world case studies and projects, which greatly enhanced my practical knowledge.

The institute also encourages active participation in extracurricular activities. I had the opportunity to lead the PR Team during our annual cultural fest, Samskruti, which was a highly enriching experience. The college provides strong support for such initiatives, along with excellent placement assistance and career guidance.

Careers360: Tell us about the course curriculum and specialisations offered. Are the learning more theory-based or practical-based?

Vinofa: East Point College of Higher Education (EPCHE) offers MBA specialisations in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Logistics. The curriculum is designed with a strong theoretical foundation, complemented by practical learning components such as assignments, internships, live projects, guest

lectures, workshops, industrial visits, and management fests.

This balanced approach equips students with real-world skills and industry insights. The option to pursue dual specialisations further enhances employability, allowing students to align their learning with in-demand career paths and gain a competitive edge in the job market.

Careers360: Did you face any difficulty in the initial months after joining the institute?

Vinofa: No, I did not face any difficulties during the initial months. The transition into the academic environment was smooth, thanks to the warm support from faculty members and peers. What stood out the most was the presence of highly experienced faculty, many of whom come from industry backgrounds. Their ability to blend academic concepts with real-world insights made learning engaging and practical from the very beginning, helping me adjust quickly and build confidence in both classroom and professional settings.

Careers360: Were there any guest lectures/industry interactions held by the institution? Tell us about them.

fa: Yes, the institute regularly organises guest lectures, seminars, and webinars featuring industry professionals and subject matter experts from diVinoverse sectors. These sessions provide valuable exposure to current industry trends, real-world challenges, and evolving career opportunities. Interacting with seasoned professionals not only enhances our understanding beyond textbooks but also helps us build networks and develop industry-relevant skills. These events are an integral part of the learning experience at EPCHE, ensuring that students stay informed, inspired, and better prepared for the demands of the professional world.

Careers360: Does the institute provide opportunities to interact with industry stalwarts and people from the corporate world? If yes, share your experience and learnings.

Vinofa: Yes, East Point College of Higher Education regularly invites industry leaders and corporate professionals for interactive sessions, guest lectures, and panel discussions. These engagements offer deep insights into current business practices, emerging trends, and real-world challenges. They help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. Personally, these sessions have enhanced my understanding of the corporate landscape, improved my communication skills, and inspired me to align my goals with industry demands. Such exposure is truly valuable in shaping career readiness and confidence.

Vinofa: At East Point College of Higher Education, classes are designed to be highly interactive and student-centric. Faculty members incorporate activity-based learning, brainstorming sessions, group discussions, and case study analyses to make the learning process dynamic and impactful. Real-life examples, role-plays, and project-based assignments further enhance student participation and understanding. Vinofa: East Point College of Higher Education actively promotes extracurricular involvement through a wide range of student clubs, cultural societies, and event committees. These platforms allow students to explore their interests, build leadership skills, and enhance their overall personality. I had the opportunity to lead the Public Relations (PR) Team during our annual cultural fest, Samskruti. It was a rewarding experience that helped me grow both personally and professionally. The college offers strong support and encouragement for such initiatives, fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus life.

Vinofa: The faculty-student ratio is well-balanced, allowing for personalised attention. Faculty members are highly supportive, approachable, and knowledgeable. They consistently mentor, guide, and motivate us, creating a positive learning environment and helping us build a strong academic and professional

Foundation.

Careers360: Does your college help you get internships? Share your experience.

Vinofa: Yes, I’m grateful to my college for securing an internship at Greytip Software Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, as an Academic Alliance Coordinator with a monthly stipend. The experience has enhanced my technical and communication skills, offered real corporate exposure, and significantly strengthened my professional profile.

Careers360: Tell us about the placement drive. Is there a placement cell in your college?

Vinofa: Yes, East Point College of Higher Education has an active Placement Cell that plays a key role in connecting students with job opportunities. Each department has dedicated WhatsApp groups where regular job updates and placement-related information are shared. Faculty members offer hands-on support with resume building, mock interviews, and interview preparation. This guidance has been invaluable. With a wide range of reputed companies visiting the campus, we have the freedom to explore roles and industries that align with our interests and career goals.

Careers360: Tell us about the placement drive and support offered by your college. Do faculty or seniors help with preparation, resumes, or mock interviews?

Vinofa: Yes, the college has an active Placement Cell. Faculty members and seniors provide excellent support through resume building, mock interviews, and placement preparation, ensuring students are well-prepared for diverse job opportunities.

Careers360: Which all companies generally visit your campus for placements? Can you give us an idea about the salary packages offered to the students at the time of placement?

Vinofa: Yes, as East Point Medical College Hospital is on the campus, and the on-campus East Point Hospital. This ensures quick and reliable care during emergencies, especially helpful for hostel residents and day scholars alike, with immediate access to treatment just a short walk away.

Careers360: How do you balance your studies, projects, exams, and other activities?

Vinofa: Our college follows a well-structured academic calendar that helps balance studies, projects, and extracurriculars. Timely deadlines and practical, work-oriented assignments allow us to manage internships alongside academic commitments. Supportive faculty and clear guidance make it easier to stay organised and meet expectations without feeling overwhelmed.

Careers360: What are the popular hangouts at the institute? What, according to you, are the most-visited places nearby?

Vinofa: Within the campus, Maska Café is a favourite hangout spot, popular for its affordable and diverse menu. The campus itself offers a relaxing environment with well-maintained sports fields and beautifully landscaped gardens, where students often unwind between classes. As part of the institute’s green initiatives, MBA students recently celebrated Environment Day by planting saplings. Outside the campus, students frequently visit nearby restaurants and cafés, making the surrounding area equally vibrant and student-friendly. The blend of on-campus serenity and nearby social spots creates a balanced and enjoyable student life experience.

Careers360: How do you spend your leisure time on campus?

I usually spend my leisure time hanging out with friends at Maska Café or relaxing on the campus grounds. Off-campus, we often visit Nexus Mall and Orion Mall, which offer great food options and shopping outlets. The area also has popular standalone restaurants like Barbeque Nation and Lakeview Milk Bar, making it a perfect blend of convenience, fun, and variety for students to unwind after classes.
