For aspiring MBA students, academic performance in class 10th and 12th is very important. These scores are considered in the MBA admission process, especially by top institutes like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). However, there are some top MBA institutes that offer admission to low marks in class 10th and 12th. IIM Ahmedabad has an “Application Rating Score”. 10th and 12th percentages are used along with Bachelor’s percentage and work experience. These are marked as Rating scores A, B, C, and D respectively by IIM Ahmedabad. The total sum becomes the Application Rating Score.

IIM Lucknow only considers the 12th percentage and not the 10th. At IIM Lucknow the 12th percentage is given a weightage of 10 points out of a total of 100. To know your points out of 10 for the total of 100 points just divide your percentage scored by 100. For example: you have a 12th percentage score of 95%, on dividing it by 100 you get 9.5. So your score out of 10 will be 9.5 based on your 12th percentage.
IIM Indore gives weightage to the 10th and 12th percentages for both PI and final selection rounds are given in the table below. IIM Indore only gives weightage to the 10th percentage and not to the 12th percentage for the process of final selection of the candidates.

As of the CAT 2024 exam for the MBA class of 2025-2027 at IIM Mumbai, the NC-OBC (Non-Creamy Other Backward Classes) category requires an overall percentile of 75.
It is essential to understand that these are the minimal qualifying percentiles required to go to the next level, the Personal Interview (PI). The actual cutoffs for receiving a PI call may be much higher, depending on the number of candidates, their profiles, and IIM Mumbai's special admission requirements for the year.
A higher score will considerably improve your chances of being shortlisted for the PI process.
