Question: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in or you switched?
Answer: I am currently working with Sam’s Club US, as part of the Analytics team. My role focuses on improving the customer experience for Digital and Multi-channel shoppers. Since college, I was always fascinated with big-box retailers, and with this role and company, I feel privileged to experience the same from close quarters and be in the same field in which I pursued my course at IMT Hyderabad.
Question: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
Answer: Through campus placement at IMT Hyderabad, I joined eClerx Services Ltd. Mumbai. I was with eClerx for three years. Then I worked with Absolutdata Analytics for about a year. Then I joined WalmartLabs and was based out of Bangalore for 1.5 years before shifting to the US offices.
Question: Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at college?
Answer: The core values remain the same, but with ever-changing business conditions and innovation happening around us, the industry work itself has evolved over the period, and you get to learn a lot with hands-on experience. Every situation comes with its own sets of challenges, and classroom learnings come in handy for kick-starting a problem-solving and having a reference starting point.

Question: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
Answer: My time at IMT laid the foundation of where I stand currently. Both Classroom learning and Peer learning helped me develop as an individual and nurtured a positive perspective towards handling different situations.

Question: What was your initial thought process when you joined college?
Answer: Before even coming to the college, I had prepared myself to go through a lot of books. But as we started the classes, I realized that we would learn a lot through case studies and discussions. It was a good surprise and a pleasant way of learning.
Question: You must have had a memorable time at your college. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Answer: As it was a full-time residential program, I have a lot of good memories about my time spent in the classroom, campus, and hostel. Whenever I connect with my IMT friends, it is always fondly remembered. We were mischievous in our way and were able to have a lot of laughs during and between the time spent in the classroom, assignments, internship, extra-curricular activities, etc., and recall it to date.
Question: Briefly take us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
Answer: On a typical day, we would have classes till the evening where in between we would sneak some fun time in the canteen. Depending upon the schedule, we would spend the remaining time completing the assignments, reading material for the next day. Since we all were staying on the campus, it was easy to connect with peers and to unwind we spent late evenings on multi-player games.

Question: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?
Answer: We started the Operations club of IMT Hyderabad – OpusKriya and it accounted for a good amount of time spent on thinking and planning with the faculty, forming a core committee and activities. Throughout my association with the club, I was privileged to interact with many great folks, improve my skills, be a good listener, and communicate my thoughts effectively.
Question: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of the institute in it?
Answer: The faculty made sure that we regularly had industry practitioner sessions related to different topics during a course. These sessions were valuable as we would get a first-hand understanding of what is going on in the industry directly from the industry experts.

Question: You are a proud alumnus of this top College. What is the best part of IMT Hyderabad Institute from a student's perspective?
Answer: The role that faculty plays in shaping you up is commendable. They make you industry-ready by keeping the curriculum updated with the latest trends. When you start your career, this knowledge about industry practices that you learn during the courses gives you an edge. The opportunity that you get through college to connect with individuals from various domains enables holistic development.
Question: What is your suggestion/ guidance for the aspirants who want to pursue MBA/ PGDM as their post graduation?
Answer: During your time in college, be brave and invest in developing your competencies and learning new skills. Once this becomes a habit, it would go a long way. Be yourself and discover what you “love to do” not “have to do”.

With a 70 percentile it is not easy to make it in the IMT Hyderabad because the cutoff usually reaches 85-90+ for general category, even IMT Nagpur has low chances since the cutoff usually reaches 75-85. However, IMI Kolkata, is your safe option, since the cutoff is around
