The admission criteria for 2016-18 have been released by the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur, for selecting admissible candidates for the post graduate programme (PGP) in management.The admission procedure is a two-step process. Stage 1 applies to all eligible candidates who have appeared for Common Admission Test (CAT 2015) and have applied for admission to IIM Kashipur. Stage 2 applies to shortlisted candidates from Stage 1. Stage 2, consists of Personal Interview (PI) and a Written Ability Test (WAT). The criteria for shortlisting candidates for PI-WAT is given in the table below,

Minimum Cut-offs to be used for shortlisting eligible candidates for WAT and PI
Quantitative Ability (QA)
Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning (DI & LR)
Verbal and Reading Comprehension(VRC)
Candidates from different categories who will secure the above percentile in CAT 2015 will be considered for calculation of their composite score in Stage 2.
At Stage 2, the WAT will have a weightage of 10 marks, whereas PI will have a weightage of 30 marks, making a total of 40. These scores will be used to calculate the final admission list.

Criteria for Preparing the Merit List
After shortlisting the candidates on the basis of their CAT 2015 scores and cutoff, the candidates have to appear in the final selection procedure, consisting of PI and WAT. The final Admission will be based on the candidate’s performance in Stage 1 and Stage 2. The offer List will be based on the formula given below,
Grand Total = WAT &PI Total + Shortlist Total
The Grand Total will be used to rank students according to their merit. IIM Kashipur will follow the Government of India policy on reservations for Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST), Non-Creamy Other Backward Class (NC-OBC) and PWD (Person with Disability).

Bhavesh, even if you are a PCB student, you can still apply for CAT as the eligibility criteria for the exam requires candidates holding a graduate degree or who are appearing in their final exam of graduation in any discipline from an institution recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. So, it does not matter what discipline you graduate from, either engineering, medical, architecture anything, you can still apply for CAT.
