IIM Kashipur - Scholarships and Financial Assistance

  • Government of India Scholarships

The following Government of India Scholarships are available to the PGP Participants: 

1) Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for Scheduled Castes Students – Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment

2) Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for Scheduled Tribes Students – Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

3) Merit-cum means based scholarship scheme belonging to the minority communities - Ministry of Minority Affairs.

  • Institute Sponsored Scholarships 

Need cum Merit based Financial Assistance - Financial assistance in the form of 100%, 50% and 25% fee tuition waiver is given to up to 10% of the PGP participants based on their family income and academic performance. Any student, including those belonging to the SC/ST category, whose total annual family income does not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/- is eligible for consideration of these scholarships. The financial aid is available to both the PGP-I-Year and PGP-II-Year students.


IIM Kashipur fee hikes 33 per cent in last 3 years

A trend of fee hike has been observed over last 3 years, where IIM Kashipur fee has gone up from Rs. 9 lakh in 2016 to Rs. 12.5 lakh in 2017 and 2018 - a 38.3 per cent increase. The table below explains the rise in the fee structure.

IIM Kashipur - Admission Process

The admission criteria of IIM Kashipur for its Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) for the academic year 2019-21 has been announced. This year, the institute has made major changes in its admission criteria as far as weightage given to different factors is considered for the final merit list. The weightage to CAT score has been reduced to 30 from 40 last year and the weightage to PI has been also reduced to 20 from 30 last year. As per the admission criteria of IIM Kashipur, candidates who applied for admission to IIM Kashipur, are shortlisted on the basis of their CAT score and then the shortlisted ones are called for WAT and PI to create the final merit list before offering the admission. The weightage given to each stage in the final selection list is given below:

  • CAT score/percentile - 30 percent

  • PI (Personal Interview)  - 20 per cent

  • Written Ability Test (WAT) - 10 per cent

Other factors taken into consideration for the selection are past academic performance, work experience and diversity. Academic Performance includes marks in Class Xth, XIIth, Graduation and Post-Graduation. Graduation marks get maximum 10 points in the final merit list. The Diversity factor includes Academic Discipline and Gender Diversity.  The weightage given to each factor is different as given in the table below.
