The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) released the CMAT 2018 application form on October 18, 2017. Candidates could access the CMAT application form 2018 in online mode only. The CMAT application form process comprises registration, fee payment and filling up the application form. It is necessary for applicants to first register for the CMAT in order to take the management based entrance test. Candidates can choose up to three test centres as per their convenience while filling up CMAT 2018 application form. Before heading on to filling the application form of CMAT 2018, applicants must make sure they fulfill the eligibility criteria, or else they may not be granted permission for taking CMAT 2018. According to the CMAT eligibility criteria 2018, a candidate must have obtained a three-year graduate degree from a recognised institute with minimum 50% score for General category and minimum 45% score for SC/ST category applicants.

What to keep ready before filling CMAT Application Form 2018?


It is highly recommended to keep certain documents and items handy before commencing with the CMAT 2018 application form. Listed below are the set of documents and relevant guidelines:

  • Ensure access to a good Internet connection to avoid any interruptions during the procedure.

  • Keep all prior academic qualification details ready as they need to be filled during the registration process.

  • A scanned photo ready to be uploaded.

  • Clear signature on a white background scanned and ready to be uploaded.

  • A valid contact number, as you will be notified via the same.

  • A valid email address for further communication.

  • A valid debit/credit card to make the fee payment.

  • A printer should be connected to the system that you are likely to use as you will need to take a printout of the challan if you plan to deposit the fees via cash at the bank.

How to fill CMAT 2018 Application Form


Those who are eligible and have registered can fill the application form of CMAT 2018.


CMAT application form process includes three steps namely:

  • Online Registration

  • Payment of Application Fee

  • Filling the Application Form

Step 1: Online Registration


Since most candidates are likely to be first time users, they will be required to create an account to proceed with the CMAT application form 2018. Here, candidates will need to enter basic details about themselves. Candidates must make sure they enter the correct information and verify the same before submitting. After filling the application form of CMAT 2018, candidates have to click on the 'Submit' button.


Note- Candidates can also add their Aadhar Card number during the registration process (optional). 


Step 2: Payment of Application Fee


The next step will be to make the necessary payments to complete the application procedure. The fee payment can be done via the following modes:

  • Debit/Credit card

  • Cash deposit in SBI Bank

  • Net Banking

The General/OBC category candidates have to pay a fee of Rs. 1400 (+bank charges), while the SC/ST category and female candidates have to pay Rs. 700 (+ additional bank charges). Also, candidates will have to print 3 copies of challan, in case they are planning to pay by cash at the bank.


Note- It is to be noted that the last date to make payments in cash is December 19, while the last date to complete the registration is December 20, 2017. Candidates will not be able to make the final submission after December 20.

Step 3: Fill the CMAT application form 2018


The last step requires candidates to fill rest of the CMAT 2018 application form. The details required are mentioned below:

  • Personal details such as name, father's name and Date of Birth (DOB)

  • Academic details including high school, senior secondary school and graduation completion details.

  • Scanned picture and signature of the exact dimensions as mentioned in the table below.

  • Accepting the declaration

Once all the information is filled in the form, it is recommended that candidates carefully verify the same once again and make the required changes if any. After this, candidates will be required to go through a declaration and accept the same. After clicking on the 'I Accept' button, candidates will receive a message on their screens stating "Thank you for successfully registering for the  AICTE CMAT 2018 exam. Please login from January 5, 2018, onwards to download your CMAT admit card."


FAQs regarding CMAT Application Form 2018


Ques - What is the registration fee for CMAT?

Ans - Candidates from General/ OBC categories will have to pay Rs. 1400 + bank charges, while female candidates from SC/ST/PWD category are required to pay Rs. 700 + bank charges. 


Ques - Where can I pay my fees?

Ans - The registration fee can either be paid in cash or online using their credit, debit or net banking. 


Ques - When and how do I register for CMAT 2018?

Ans - The registration for CMAT 2018 will commence from October 20 onwards and will end on December 15. The registration process comprises three steps:

  • CMAT Online Registration

  • Payment of CMAT application fee

  • Fill up the application form

Ques - When registering for the CMAT, can I use someone else's email address? 

Ans - No, you will not be able to register through someone else's email address. You will need a valid email address of yourself, as for the next eight months all the communication will be received via the email address. 


Ques - Can I pay the fees through DD (Demand Draft)  or Cash or Cheque? Where do I pay the fees?

Ans - No, you cannot pay the fees through cheque or demand draft. It can only be paid online or cash at any nearest SBI branch. If you plan to pay cash, you will need to generate a Challan through the website and visit the SBI bank on the next day. 


Ques - When is the test being held and will I be able to choose a test city?

Ans - CMAT will be held on January 20, 2018. Yes, you can pick up to three test cities of your preference. Your first preference for the test city will be given the utmost weight, however, the actual allotment of the test city is subject to availability. 


Ques - Where can I check the list of test cities?

Ans - The list of test cities is mentioned on the CMAT website. 


Ques - What if I generate the CASH challan on December 20, 2017? How can I proceed after that as the registration the last date is also December 20, 2017? Can I pay the fees through Bank DD (Demand Draft)  or Cash or Cheque?

Ans - In such case, if you generate the Challan on December 20, 2017, you can pay in cash by December 19 and you can also complete your registration process until December 20, 2017. 


Ques - Can I change my preferred test city after submitting my form?

Ans - No, you will not be able to make any changes once you have finally submitted the form. 


Ques - Can I cancel my application and apply for the refund of fee, after submission of CMAT registration fee?

Ans - Cancellation of application or refund of the fee is not allowed, under any condition. 


Ques - Will I be eligible for a refund, in case I do not take my test.  

Ans - No, you will not be eligible for any refund in case you miss your test or do not sit for the exam as per the scheduled time, location and date.
