Piyush: I’m Piyush Mishra, an MBA graduate with dual specialisation in Finance and Marketing from ICFAI University, Dehradun. I chose ICFAI for its strong academic reputation, industry-oriented curriculum, and excellent placement support.

Piyush: My experience at ICFAI was enriching both academically and personally. The learning environment, faculty guidance, and exposure to live projects helped me grow into a confident professional.
Careers360: How well did the curriculum prepare you for your career or higher studies?
Piyush: The curriculum was well-balanced between theory and practical exposure. Subjects like investment banking, retail management, and business valuation directly helped me in my current professional role.
Careers360: Were there sufficient opportunities for internships, projects, or industry exposure during your time here?
Piyush: Yes, the university provided ample opportunities for internships and live projects. My summer internship with IDBI Capital and live project with Dazzle Footwear were valuable learning experiences.
Careers360: How did extracurricular activities, clubs, or cultural events contribute to your personal development?
Piyush: Participating in presentations, events, and club activities improved my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. These experiences helped me gain confidence in public speaking and professional interactions.
Careers360: What were the key strengths of the campus environment (infrastructure, resources, student life)?
Piyush: The campus had excellent infrastructure, supportive faculty, and a positive learning culture. The interactive environment encouraged collaboration and continuous learning among students.
Careers360: Did the placement cell or career services meet your expectations? Why or why not?
Piyush: Yes, the placement cell was proactive and supportive. They organised training sessions, mock interviews, and industry talks that helped me perform well in placements.
Careers360: How has your degree contributed to your professional growth and career trajectory?
Piyush: My MBA laid a strong foundation for my current role at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. It enhanced my analytical and communication skills, helping me perform confidently in client-facing roles.
Careers360: What skills gained at the institution do you find most valuable in your current role?
Piyush: Skills like financial analysis, negotiation, and relationship management are most valuable. Additionally, the presentation and teamwork experience from ICFAI helps me in day-to-day interactions.
Careers360: What challenges did you face during your academic journey, and how did you overcome them?
Piyush: Balancing academics with projects and presentations was initially challenging. I overcame it by effective time management and continuous guidance from mentors and faculty.
Careers360: How do you stay connected with fellow alumni and the institution?
Piyush: I stay in touch with my batch mates through alumni groups and LinkedIn. I also follow updates and events shared by the university to stay connected with the ICFAI community.
Careers360: Would you be interested in mentoring current students or participating in alumni activities?
Piyush: Yes, I would love to mentor students and share my experiences. It’s a great way to give back to the institution that shaped my career.
Careers360: As a professional, how would you advise a student to plan a career, keeping in mind changes and upheavals in the industry?
Piyush: Students should stay adaptable, keep learning new skills, and focus on practical exposure. The ability to learn quickly and stay updated with market trends is key to long-term success.
Careers360: Learning never ends for any professional. In this context, how do you think one should prepare for career advancement with value additions? How can students identify these areas?
Piyush: Professionals should pursue certifications, attend workshops, and follow industry updates. Students can identify areas by exploring their interests and understanding evolving market demands.
Careers360: How likely are you to recommend this institution to those planning to pursue higher studies?
Piyush: I would highly recommend ICFAI University for its quality education, supportive faculty, and career-oriented environment. It truly prepares students for professional success.

If you don't want to go for the IBS Ahmedabad then you can get admitted to the IBS Dehradun. There is no such mandatory thing to go for IBS Ahmedabad if its get cleared.

After IBS Hyderabad, your Second Option must be IBS Mumbai, but incase you dont get that IBS Dehradun may be a good choice. Being part of the ICFAI University, the College provides effective management education besides providing standard placements.
