TISSNET MBA Cutoff 2024: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai has announced a major change in its admission process for the MA in HRM&LR and an MA in ODCL 2024-26 programmes. According to the notice issued by TISS, the institute will not conduct a TISSNET exam this year. Instead, TISS will consider the CAT scores for shortlisting candidates for the next rounds of selection, which include the Pre-Interview Test (TISSMAT/ TISSPAT) and personal interview.

The CAT entrance test was conducted by IIM Lucknow on November 26, 2023. Candidates who wish to apply for TISS’s MBA programmes had to appear for CAT 2023 and also fill out the TISS application form separately. The TISS MBA cutoff 2024 will be the minimum percentile that candidates need to secure in CAT 2023 to qualify for the TISS selection process.

TISS offers a Master's in Applied Psychology (Clinical and Counselling Practice).  While this program equips you with valuable knowledge and skills, it  doesn't directly qualify you as a licensed clinical psychologist in India .

This program focuses on developing skills in assessment and intervention for mental health and emotional well-being. It equips you to work in various settings like hospitals, clinics, and NGOs.

TISS's program seems to be designed to provide a foundation in both clinical and counselling psychology. You might not choose a specific specialization (clinical or counselling) within the program itself.

A Master's degree in psychology is the first step. TISS's program is a good starting point. After your Master's, you need to pursue an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology or a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) program, which are typically research-oriented and include clinical training. These programs are offered by a limited number of universities in India. The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) regulates the practice of psychology in India. After completing an M.Phil. or Psy.D. program, you'll need to register with the RCI to practice as a clinical psychologist. Registration involves an internship and an exam.

Hi,

When it comes to choosing the ideal college for BA in social sciences especially in India, TISS should be your most logical choice in all aspects.

BA in social sciences from TISS will give you an edge as TISS has courses for Masters and PhD as well. I personally know a lot of my classmates who came to TISS for their Bachelors and they never left. So there shouldn't be any doubts about the college's brand image and reputation.

As far as social sciences as a field of study goes, I personally did my graduation in commerce which I now regret. Social sciences is a very broad field culminating psychology, sociology, rural development, philosophy, policy, economics, finance, administration and several other fields. This helps in gaining a wider perspective and knowledge on what's happening in the world.

According to me, social sciences is the field of the future along with technology and engineering. So if you want to jump into a field which excites you and where there are no saturation levels, social science is the way to go.
