I am a CAT aspirant & have appeared for CAT, XAT,& SNAP & scored 90%ile. With acads 10th-7.4CGPA, 12th-82% & in graduation(2018)-64% with no work experience due to family problem. Would I able to secure a seat in good college? I have been shortlisted for TAPMI, FORE, IIMV for round one till now.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 17th Feb, 2020

its true that iims and some of other top ranked institute shortlisted candidates as per their academic record and  cat or any other management aptitude  test score. see right now which of institute name you have mentioned is also comes under tier 1 college. now you need to focus on your presentation skills, communication approach  to get shortlisted in final rounds. so keep calm and focus on your goal, I think you will surely crack it.

can someone give me a review of PGDM - HRM of Tapmi

Harshita Sharan Srivastava Student Expert 5th Feb, 2020
Hello aspirant,
TAPMI is one of the premier B-schools in india. Students and Faculty of TAPMI regularly win awards at national level competitions.
If you are interested for HRM program, then definitely you should consider tapmi.

TAPMI has a consistent record of 100% placement during the last several years. The average placement at TAPMI is consistently rising with a average package of more than 11 lakhs. The same is true for their HRM program as well.. Also Tapmi provides you with good infrastructure and exposure.

All the best

I have CAT score of 84.65, VARC 67 DI/LR 90 and 10th/12th 75% and 62% in graduation, OBC category, Can anyone let me know which colleges should I fill like KJSOM, TAPMI, BIM Trichy?

Sampriti Student Expert 25th Jan, 2020
With your CAT percentile you can get a call from BIM Trichy as it requires a minimum of 80 percentile in CAT. KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research and TAPMI Manipal require atleast 85 percentile in CAT. But the last date to apply for BIM Trichy 23rd January whereas for TAPMI and KJ Somaiya it is open.

You should also check out these colleges with your CAT percentile
  • GIM Goa
  • LBSIM Delhi
  • BIMTECH Noida
  • XIME Bangalore
  • XISS Ranchi
  • IMT Nagpur and Hyderabad campuses
  • IMI Bhubaneshwar and others.

They are also good colleges in terms of academics and placements and have an equally good reputation in industry.

Good Luck

Hey! Can you tell me which one is better among TAPMI and FORE? I scored 89.5 percentile in cat? which one is better for placement and which has better ROI.

Sampriti Student Expert 24th Jan, 2020
Both are excellent colleges in terms of placements. The fees of FORE School of Management for their PGDM program is nearly 15.98 lakhs and that of TAPMI is nearly 14.6 lakhs. The placements for both of them are more or less same with an average compensation package of 10-12 lakhs. If you're getting a call from both the colleges you must attend the selection process for both but if you get selected for both then you should go for FORE School of Management. You'll have better opportunities there.

Good Luck

CAT - 89.85 (VA - 93, DI - 93. QA - 68), GMAT - 650. Work ex - 24 months (Merchant Navy Officer). Ive already applied to : 1. Great Lakes (1 &2 yr PGP) 2. Tapmi 3. IMT 4. IMI 5. FORE 6. IRMA 7. KJSIMSR 8. MICA Kindly let me know if I am eligible to apply for any others. Thanks

Sampriti Student Expert 20th Jan, 2020
You have  a pretty good CAT percentile and you can check out these colleges also
  • VGSOM IIT Kharagpur
  • GIM  Goa ( registration for the college was until 3rd January)
  • University Business School, Punjab University
  • BIM Trichy
  • LIBA Chennai
  • BIMTECH Noida
  • Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management Delhi
  • Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai

These are some of the best B schools you can get and they have an excellent reputation in the market. Considered as tier 2 colleges, they offer an average compensation package of 10-12 lakhs.

Good Luck
