Question : Directions: Three different positions of the same dice are shown. Find the number on the face opposite the face showing 1.

Option 1: 6

Option 2: 2

Option 3: 3

Option 4: 4

Team Careers360 21st Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 3

Solution : According to the dice rule, if two or three positions of the same dice are given with two common faces but in different orientations, then out of those two common faces the faces that are not common are opposite to each other.
While considering Figures 1 and 2, it is seen that two faces 1 and 6 are common. So, the remaining numbers are 2 and 5. So, 2 and 5 are the opposite faces of each other in the given dice.
While considering Figures 2 and 3, it is seen that two faces 1 and 5 are common. So, the remaining numbers are 6 and 4. So, 6 and 4 are the opposite faces of each other in the given dice.

Pair of opposite faces –

So, the face opposite to the face containing 1 is the face containing 3. Hence, the third option is correct.

Question : Statement 1: Human capital formation has no impact on poverty reduction.

Statement 2: Human capital formation plays a crucial role in poverty reduction by improving employment opportunities and income levels.

Option 1: Statement 1 is true, and statement 2 is true.

Option 2: Statement 1 is true, but statement 2 is false.

Option 3: Statement 1 is false, but statement 2 is true.

Option 4: Statement 1 is false, and statement 2 is false.

Team Careers360 20th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Statement 1 is false, but statement 2 is true.

Solution : The correct option is (c) Statement 1 is false, but statement 2 is true.

Statement 1 suggests that human capital formation has no impact on poverty reduction. This statement is false. Human capital formation, which involves investments in education, skills development, and healthcare, plays a crucial role in poverty reduction. By equipping individuals with knowledge, skills, and abilities, human capital formation enhances their employability and income-earning potential. It improves their chances of accessing better job opportunities, higher wages, and economic mobility, thus reducing poverty.

Statement 2 correctly states that human capital formation plays a crucial role in poverty reduction by improving employment opportunities and income levels. It enables individuals to break the cycle of poverty by acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to secure productive and well-paying jobs. Additionally, human capital formation can contribute to the overall development of communities and societies, leading to improved social indicators and reduced poverty rates.

Therefore, statement 1 is false, but statement 2 is true.

Statements:
a. Mary said, "Ann and I both have cats".

Conclusions:
I. Ann has a cat.
II. Mary has a cat.
III. Ann is lying.

Option 1: II only

Option 2: I and II only

Option 3: I, II and III

Option 4: I only

Team Careers360 18th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: I, II and III

Solution : According to the given statement –
Conclusion I: Ann has a cat – From the given statements, it is clear that Mary always tells the truth and Mary told that both Ann and she have cats. Therefore, Ann having a cat is a true conclusion.
Conclusion II: Mary has a cat – From the given statements, it is clear that Mary always tells the truth and Mary told that both Ann and she have cats. Therefore, Mary having a cat is a true conclusion.
Conclusion III: Ann is lying – From the given statement, it is clear that Mary always tells the truth and Ann sometimes lies. Since Mary never tells lies, the statement said by Mary is always true and the statement said by Ann is a lie. Therefore, Ann is lying is a true conclusion.

So, all conclusions follow. Hence, the third option is correct.
