my ssc 67.27 hsc 53.55 graduation 78 I dont have any work ex and i m non engineer and sc category should I go for cat or xat because my concern is that all iim required good academics my academics are below average.should preparation of cat worth it?

Manasvini B 25th Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant ,

CAT , i.e, Common Admission Test is for admissions into IIMs. The basic eligibility criteria to write the exam is minimum 50% criteria in 10th and 12th. You have fulfilled the criteria for writing the exam , as for your past academics they are little low but you have an advantage with the fact that you're not an engineer. The cutoffs for non engineers to promote diversity among students will lead to lower cutoffs. Past academics are only one part of your selection criteria , the most weightage is given to CAT , GD-PI and the Interview. You also have reservation , hence there will be less cutoffs and a good shot at getting into premier schools. So definitely , CAT will be worth your time if you're interested in pursuing management.

Hope this helps you! Good luck!

i am getting 40 -50 percentage in every semster is that good and i have got 22 percentile in xat exam can i get in a averge mba colleges

Shanu Yadav 13th Apr, 2021

Hello Rohit,

The eligibilty criteria for getting admission in MBA is that you must obtain aggregate of 50% at the end of your Degree (50% should be the total of all the semesters which you get in your final year).

And if we talk about your XAT result then 22 percentile is not a satisfactory percentile which the authorities demand through these entrance exams.

Do check the cutoff once for your satisfaction  the link is here:

So I would suggest you to try for an second attempt if you truly wanted to get admitted in a good college.

Thankyou

Wish you good luck!

I want to know about xat, snap and nmat exam.

Heena Agrawal 16th Mar, 2021
Hi...
XAT 2021 will be conducted on Sunday, January 3, 2021. XLRI conducts XAT on behalf of XAMI. For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting XAT at all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. The XAT score is being used by more than 150 institutes for the admission.

Applicants should note that registration for XAT 2021 and appearing for XAT 2021 is the preliminary step towards applying to XLRI and XAT Associate Institutes. Applicants to different institutes, besides XLRI have to apply separately to Institutes of their choice.

IMS Experts shall take the XAT 2021 and provide detailed section-wise and overall analysis with expected cut-offs post the exam. Stay tuned to get all the latest updates.

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, popularly known as SNAP is a national level management entrance test taken by around 50,000 test-takers every year. SNAP 2020 is an Online test of 60 minutes, administered by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to its 16 institutes offering management programmes.

SNAP 2020 will be Conducted on three different dates, 20 December 2020 (Sunday), 06 January 2021 (Wednesday) & 09 January 2021 (Saturday) between 11: 00am to 12:00 noon. Result will be announced on 22nd January 2021 (Friday).

Eligibility:Candidate should be a graduate from any recognised University/ Institution of National Importance and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes) at graduation.

Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes).
The structure of the NMAT changed in 2020 - from a computer based test it became an Adaptive Test. As a result, the weightage allotted to difficult questions was higher than that allotted to easy questions. Students could not skip any questions and the level of difficulty of the next question depended on whether the previous attempt was correct or incorrect. Students, therefore, are advised to ensure that the initial set of questions are attempted correctly. Clicking the Next button without selecting an option resulted in the prompt You must complete your answer to this question to continue. The instructions for the test mentioned that unattempted questions at the close of the section would attract a penalty.

Overall, the test being adaptive, it rewarded the candidates with higher marks for more difficult questions. And, by not allowing the candidates to skip a question and by penalising the candidates for unattempted questions at the end of the test , the students were made to pay attention to not only accuracy but also to time management of the test. The adaptive format of the test also implied that the topic wise break-up of questions that individual students faced.

A candidate who has completed qualifying qualification from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
