My score in TANCET-Mtech CSE is 94 percentile and overall is 93 percentile . Can i get seat in anna university or PSG tech ? or any top colleges?

Mayumi DAS 27th Apr, 2025

Alright, let's go through it carefully:

You have:

  • TANCET M.Tech (CSE) Percentile : 94 in CSE, 93 overall.

Now, for TANCET M.Tech Admissions:

  • In Anna University (CEG Campus, MIT Campus) , CSE branches generally close around 95 to 98 percentile for Open/General category .
So with 94 percentile , it is a little borderline — you might just miss CEG Campus CSE in open category, but MIT Campus or other Anna University regional campuses are still very much possible .

  • PSG Tech Coimbatore is even tougher — CSE closes around 96–98 percentile .
It’s one of the top colleges, so your chance for direct CSE admission in PSG is slightly low at 94 percentile.

Realistic chances:

  • Anna University Affiliated Colleges (like ACTech, MIT, or regional Anna campuses): Good chance .

  • Other top private colleges like:

    1. SSN College of Engineering (Chennai)

    2. Kumaraguru College of Technology (Coimbatore)

    3. Sri Sairam Engineering College

    4. RMK Engineering College
      — You have very good chances here with 94 percentile.

  • PSG Tech : Difficult for CSE, but you might get allied branches like Software Engineering , Information Technology , etc., if you prefer.

In Short:

  • Anna University main CEG campus CSE : Slightly difficult but apply — sometimes cutoff changes!

  • MIT Campus and Anna University affiliated colleges : Good chance .

  • PSG Tech for pure CSE: Hard , but try for related IT/Software branches if open.

Hi I have got 73.54 percentile in mca tancet exam under the BC category at list me the good college for this percentile??

Mayumi DAS 27th Apr, 2025

Hello,

With a 73.5 percentile in the TANCET MCA exam under the BC category, your chances of getting top colleges like Anna University (CEG) or PSG College of Technology are low, as their cutoffs for BC candidates usually require above 90 percentile.

However, you still have good chances in several reputed colleges. Based on previous year trends, here’s a list where your percentile fits well:

Colleges likely within reach:

  • Government College of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore
  • Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore
  • Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai
  • Easwari Engineering College, Chennai
  • SSN College of Engineering, Chennai (borderline chances, but possible under BC quota)
  • Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai
  • University of Madras, Chennai
  • Bharathiar University, Coimbatore

i did not write tancet exam , whether i can able to apply for MBA in CIT college

Rajeswari Dey 27th Apr, 2025

Hi aspirant,

Admission to the MBA program at Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) is mostly based on the TANCET exam score.
As a result, since you did not take the TANCET exam, you are unlikely to be admitted directly to CIT's MBA program through the usual admissions process. However, it may be worthwhile to contact the CIT admissions office directly about any alternative admission criteria or processes that may be in place.  Some colleges may have management quotas or take marks from other national-level entry exams such as the CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT.

All the best!
