My MAT composite score is 489.5 and my percentile below is 33.43 what does it mean ?

theeanonymous 5th Jan, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

There are total 160 questions in MAT and these 160 questions are divided into 4 sections. So the composite score is the combined score of all the sectional marks. The composite score is your actual merit score considered for MBA admission in various colleges. The composite scores can range from 200 to 800. On the other hand you percentile score shows what percentage of people have scored below. So in your case, with a percentile of 33.43 means , you have scored higher than 33.34 percentage of students who wrote the exam.

Abhishek Roy 5th Jan, 2021

With a composite score of 589.50, you expected Percentile Score will be somewhere around 85-90 percentile for your case. I believe at this percentile you have fair chances in securing a call from some of the good Management Institutes of Maharashtra like Wellingkar and PIBM Pune. in the mat exam there is only 5 collage option .... if Im not selected in that 5 collage lists collage then whats the next step... and what can I do ...

theeanonymous 13th Feb, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Based on the score you secure and the cutoff of the colleges ,you will receive interview and GD call letter immediately after the results are declared. In case you do not get call from any of the colleges you have given as your choices, then you can check the cutoff trends in other colleges and based on the score you have got , you can apply separately in those colleges. You can check the cutoffs and list out the colleges you want to apply in other than those 5 options:

Abhishek Roy 5th Jan, 2021

Anything above 400 as a Composite Score in MAT is considered Good.

Analyzing your Percentile Score, it should be anywhere between 75-85. Though not the best, but you have fair chances in securing a seat at some of the better Management Institute as well as those under leading private universities. For more information do follow the link below
