MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is a national level test, approved by the Ministry of HRD, GoI and is used by more than 600 B-schools across India to screen potential candidates who will be opting for admission into their MBA and other related programs.

Please find below some relevant information regarding MAT 2021 before we move on to the important topics that you need to cover:-

  • Modes of conducting the test and their corresponding fees - You may choose to give the test in any of the listed modes as per your preference -
    • Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) - Rs. 1,650
    • Double Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) - Rs. 2,750
    • Paper Based Test (PBT) - Rs. 1,650
    • Paper Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (PBT + IBT) - Rs. 2,750
    • Computer Based Test (CBT) - Rs. 1,650
    • Computer Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (CBT + IBT) - Rs. 2,750
    • Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT + CBT) - Rs. 2,750
    • Computer Based Test (Phase-2) - Rs. 1,650
  • Cities conducting the test - More than 50 cities all across the country will have test centers. Some of them are -
    • Paper Based Test (PBT) mode - Agra, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Ghaziabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Varanasi an many more.
    • Computer Based Test (CBT) mode - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Kochi, Kozhikode, Trichy, Vishakhapatnam and many more.
  • Eligibility - You should have either completed your under-graduation in any area or you should be in your final year in the same.
  • Essential documents - Some of the vital documents that you absolutely require in order to register yourself to sit for the exam are as follows -
    • A valid Email ID
    • A scanned image of your photograph
    • A scanned image of your signature
    • A credit/ debit card or netbanking details in order to pay the requisite fees online
  • Participating B-schools - Some of the B-schools that accept MAT scores during its admission process are:-

MAT 2021 will be an objective type test. It will have 200 questions to be finished in 150 minutes. These will be divided in the following 5 sections with 40 questions in each:-

  • Language comprehension - Try to finish in 30 minutes.
  • Intelligence and critical reasoning - Try to finish in 30 minutes.
  • Mathematical skills - Try to finish in 40 minutes.
  • Data analysis and sufficiency - Try to finish in 35 minutes.
  • Indian and global environment - Try to finish in 15 minutes.

The detailed syllabus for each of the five sections, with the more important topics being underlined, have been listed below:-

If you will have rank more than or equivalent to Jee main cut off for NIT Harimpur , you will have chances of admission.

Cutoff changes every year and depends upon factors like availibility of seats, previous year's cut off etc.

2020 cut off NIT Harimpur ,(home state)  chemical engineering for general category male was rank 82168, female it was 131912

For computer science engineering, for male -20494, female candidate - 37858

As read on the website, GK section marks are not included in the total percentile for MAT. So will the negative marking of GK section affect the overall paper or not

Hi...
While themarksof theGK sectionarenotconsidered while calculating the MAT percentile, however, a number of MAT institutions consider candidate'sGKscore in the second round. Further, a few B-Schools accepting MAT scores have sectional cutoffs forGK. Thus, you will do wellnotto take thissectionlightly.
The GK Section in MAT is not counted for final percentile or composite score calculation. However you will get an edge during the GD/PI process, if you have a decent score in MAT GK Section.

Hello. I wil be appearing for MAT PBT 2021. Also, for IBT mode. I wanted to know which result will be accepted by b-schools. Is it based on the best score out of all or the last attempted test score

Mat examination will be conducted in three different phases Online/Computer Based Test (CBT), Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) and Offline/Paper Based Test(PBT).

sir, I completed my graduation(B.A.) from Calcutta university last year. but I didnt get a 50% number on my graduation. so can I able to get The OPEN MAT exam? I am a general category.

Hello,

According to the eligibility criteria for IGNOU OPENMAT MBA 2021 it states that Candidates willing to apply must have graduated from a recognized educational institution with minimum 50 percent marks for general category and 45 percent for reserved category.

I am sorry to say that if you belong to the general category and do not have 50% minimum then you are not eligibile.

Hello, I am really desperate to get my result, as a lot of colleges have their last date to apply is March 31,2021. I do not know what to do as I was actually wanting to get through, from my MAT pbt result. Any chances that it comes by 31st of march ?

Hello,

As you said that MAT result has not been announced yet but, yes, there is a little possibility that it will be declared by the end of this month of in the first week of April, 2021. The result date was postponed and due to this many candidates are desperately waiting for their results.

if a student is having 48% in class 12, then he is eligible for applying, Cat, Mat, Xat and Other Mba entrance test?
