Hello aspirant!
IPMAT is exam which is conducted by IIM Indore for five year integrated program (BBA +MBA ) from IIM Indore whereas CAT exam is for MBA degree in different IIMs and B schools.Although the syllabus is same for CAT and IPMAT but the difficultly level is totally different.Hope it clears the difference between IPMAT and CAT.
Hope it answer your concerns.
Feel free to ask if you have any other queries.
If you have less than 60% marks in 10th then I'm afraid you won't be eligible to sit for the IPMAT exam because that requires a minimum of 60 percent in both 10th and 12th. But it's not a very big problem. If you are targeting IIMs you can still achieve that. Just do well in 12th, get a brilliant score in graduation also. And after that do well in CAT, you can surely get a call.
Over and above try to maintain a good profile by participating in national level competitions or doing some courses. That will help in your final selection.
All the very best
Hi Manan,
You can use Arun Sharma for IPMAT but honestly, that isn't needed because the level for CAT is much higher than what is expected in IPMAT. Instead, you can use the below material:
Part 1: Quantitative Aptitude
For this the books you can refer are:
1. Class XI and XII Mathematics by R.D. Sharma.
2. Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Exams by R.S. Aggarwal
Part 2: Verbal Ability
The books that you might look for are:
1. Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis.
2. Better English by Norman Lewis
3. English Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin.
One of the best books to prepare for IPMAT is ‘Crack the IIM Indore IPM Entrance Exam’, published by Pearson and written by IIM Lucknow Alumnus Nishit Sinha.
Good Luck.
