how to get free study materials for iift exam

Anonymous 28th Aug, 2017
You cannot get free material completely for IIFT preparation. You can initially get one or 2 but not more than that. You can check the preparation videos and lessons on various online sites like youtube without any payment.

You can also grab previous year sample papers and practice them to get master in the concept of the exam.
You can put extra effort only in the GK section which you can prepare by reading newspapers, and other magazines like gk today, manorama Yearbook or take the online courses reliable sources.
Go through toppers interview and know various preparation strategies to get the most out of your preparation.

I have good command on QA and DI should I give IIFT or not..

Anonymous 13th Sep, 2017
If you are good in the important sections of most of the management exams then why just thinking about one exam. You should attempt most of the management exams like CAT, IIFT, XAT, MAT etc.
You will have good chances overall. Some of the tricks you can apply are:

  • Quantitative Ability & selected areas of Verbal ability are concept driven, which means that the questions depend heavily on core concepts.
  • To tackle the Verbal Ability section, one has to focus on improving one's reading speed because the paper typically features 3-4 Reading comprehension. Also, you should prepare the basics of grammar in order to solve sentence correction questions. Practice is required to solve usage-based questions like analogy, fill in the blanks etc. A good vocabulary proves to be an asset.
  • Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning are practice-intensive, practice-intensive, which means that familiarity respect to similar questions is a key determinant here. It is advisable to practice different Data Interpretation question types like pie charts, bar graphs, data tables, line charts & combinations thereof, for the DI section. For Logical Reasoning, you need to practice questions on arrangements, family trees, complex data situations etc for the LR section.
  • General Awareness is an environment-sensitive area and requires familiarity with both static and current components of the environment. For static GK one should focus on topics like history, geography, economics, political system etc. For current GK, you can refer to our GK junction section and use our various current affairs related sections.
Hope this helps.

i hv 51% in 10th 49% in 12th and 52% in graduation.. after 12th 4 yr gap.. can i get any top college if i score 99+ %ile in CAT/IIFT

Anonymous 9th Aug, 2017
Based on your academic profile you have less chances to get into top IIMs.
IIFT is one of the BSchool in India which does not give much weight age to your past academics. If you have the basic qualification and clear written,GD,PI and Essay writing you are through.

So even if you get 99 percentile in CAT then also you will have to be excellent in your interview rounds so that their attention is much more on your caliber and less on your past  academics.

Generally there are 2 rounds after the exam that is written and extempore, PI. It varies in all.

Give previous year papers and attempt mocks. Analyse your weak areas accordingly. Also do not skip the portion until and unless to decide to leave that part. But avoid it mostly.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
