TISSNET 2016 Result - The final Result of TISSNET 2016 has been declared by TISS on April 22, 2016 at 8:00 PM. Earlier, the result was to be declared at 6:30 PM but due to some causes, the result has declared at 8:00 PM. The candidates who had appeared for the exam and the selection process can download the final score card from here at this page. The final selection status has been declared by Tata Institute of Social Services, Mumbai. On February 2, 2016, TISS had announced the result of TISSNET 2016 and the shortlist status of the TISSNET exam takers.

TISSNET Results 2016 announces the section wise and PIT and PI scores along with the selection status of the candidates who had appeared in the selection procedure after being shortlisted at TISSNET 2016.

The TISSNET 2016 final selection process was a 2 stage process-  Pre-Interview Test (PIT) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The PIT and PI rounds will be conducted in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati. The final list of selected candidates has been declared on April 22, 2016. The date had been postponed from the original schedule of April 15, 2016. The TISSNET 2016 Cutoff will be released by the officials later, and it is expected that it will be on the similar lines as that of TISSNET 2015. Following are the parameters and weights that will be assigned for preparing the final merit list.

Those who had cleared NET had been called for PIT/PI. Except Mumbai Social Work programmes all other programmes have a written test the format is to write an essay in an descriptive form to a set of questions from given case study focusing mainly on social, socio-economic, socio-political issues at the micro- as well as macro-level. Besides, for some programmes, the written test includes logical analysis and reasoning with figure etc. and simple mathematics.


In case of Tie

In case of a tie between two or more candidates, then the following procedures will be followed 

  • PI marks will be compared and the candidate with higer score will be considered for next steps.
  • In case of tie in PI marks, PIT marks of the 2 candidates will be compared
  • In case of equal PIT marks, TISSNET 2016 marks will be considered
  • If the TISSNET 2016 score of the 2 canddiates are same as well, then the candidate with higher age will be given preference.

The selected candidates will have to complete the verification of documents and fee payment procedure from April 25 to May 4 and May 9 to 11, 2016.  As per the important dates declared by TISS Mumbai, the institute will declare 2 waitlists on May 16 and June 1, 2016 respectively. 


Preparation of wait-list

  1. Candidates who get admission to the programme of their first preference will not be on wait-lists for other programmes of his preferences.
  2. Candidates getting admission into any programme which is their second preference, will only be retained in the wait list of the first preference. Candidates getting admission to any programme which is their third preference, will be retained in the wait list of their first and second preference
  3. Candidates, who gets selected in a programme lower in the order of preferences will be retained in the wait-list of a preference higher in the order, till the seats in that programme are filled.
  4. In case, the candidates qualifies in two programmes at the same time at the time of wait list preparation, the higher preference will be prevailed. The Institute will offer admission only to the higher preference.
  5. When a candidate who has already taken admission in a programme as per the first merit list is subsequently offered the higher preference when the wait list is activated, he/she will be moved into the programme of higher preference and will be informed.

TISSNET is a national level exam conducting by TISS for admissions to the Masters social service programme. Only the eligible candidates who successfully registered for the test were able to appear in the test, which was conducted on January 9, 2016.

I want to know about the dates, syllabus for the exam of tissnet 2021

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a Deemed University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.It conducts TISS National Entrance Test (TISSNET) for admission to about 55 of its Programs. TISSNET was conducted on January 12,2020. The dates for 2021 has not been announced yet.
TISSNET consists of the following parts:
1. English Proficiency and Language Skills
2.Mathematical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability
3. Logical Reasoning
4. Data Interpretation
5.General Awareness

You will have to enter your registered email id and password that you created for TISSNET. If you are still not able to login, mail their helpdesk at: pgadmission@tiss.edu (mailto:pgadmission@tiss.edu) . You can also contact them at 022-25525252, 91-22-2552 5000. Mail them from your registered email. Before that once try shutting down your computer and restart and try it again.


i cleared the cutoff of tiss net 2020 and got the PI call fromMA IN hospitality and analytics management. are these cou rses are good in tiss. and when did the PI call letter come.

First of all congratulations on your selection. TISS is a brand in itself, so all the courses their are almost good. Hospital and analytical management is one of the most popular course and its placements are good too. Most importantly TISS is good in terms of ROI. TISS NET 2020 exam has been conducted and questions in the exam were asked from the following sections:

English proficiency
Mathematics and Logical reasoning
General Awareness

For English proficiency and Mathematics and Logical reasoning there is no sectional cutoff. For General Awareness, there is sectional cutoff of 35% (14 Marks).

Sonu, admission to Master's courses in Tata Institute of Social Sciences occurs through TISSNET. Now, you can apply for TISSNET if you fulfill the conditions required as stipulated by the institution. These conditions are known as eligibility criteria. Now, the eligibility criteria for applying for TISSNET in terms of educational qualification in most cases ie for admission to most courses is that the candidate should be graduate in any stream or discipline or he/she must be appearing in their final graduation paper and have to submit their passing certificate by any date stipulated. As far as you are graduate, you can apply for most cases, however, for some courses like MA (Organisation Development, Change and Leadership), Master of Public Health (Social Epidemiology), M.A. Social Work in (Disability Studies and Action) etc , the requirement is that graduation should be from a certain stream or subject or there should be some job or internship experience for the candidates.
