The placement process for the batch of 2012-14 has concluded at the top B-schools. Although it has been a low-key affair at most of the institutes this year and the final placement process concluded later than usual barring few top B-schools, yet the average salary saw marginal rise in spite of having a higher batch size.
Sales & Marketing still continues to dominate the recruiting sectors. Other top sectors include Finance, BFSI, Consulting and IT/ITeS.
B-schools like IIM Indore, FMS Delhi and XLRI Jamshedpur reported marginal increase in average salary with respective increment of 0.24 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.30 per cent. On the other hand, the average salary offered to the batch of 2014 was among the highest with Rs. 16.18 lakh per annum and Rs. 16.25 lakh per annum respectively. SPJIMR Mumbai has so far received the highest average salary of Rs. 17.2 lakh per annum which is 6.63% higher compared to that of last year, which was Rs. 16.13 lakh per annum.

Summer Placement Reports 2014
After completing the first year of the 2 year MBA programme, the students have to participate in the Summer Placement process. Here the students spend 2 months interning for an organization and they are paid stipend for the internship. Based on the performance, the students are also offered Pre Placement Offers or PPOs.
