Careers360: What are the application criteria of SIMSREE? Can you share the MAH CET Cut-off?

Yashodhan Deshmukh: The admission process of SIMSREE happens through DTE administration. SIMSREE accepts scores of MAH CET. The test has been conducted on March 12 and 13, 2016. The cut off for the exam is generally in the range of 99+ percentile. While the score of any national exam such as CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT is accepted, the cut off for these tests generally is 99.9 percentile.

Careers360: What is the total intake of the MMS and PGDM programme at your institute?

Yashodhan Deshmukh: The total intake for MMS batch is 120. The total intake for PGDM batch is 60. So the total intake for any given year is 180. The annual fee for the first year is Rs. 69,000 and Rs. 2000 refundable. The fee for the second year is Rs. 67,000.

Careers360: What is your selection criterion for the academic session 2016-18?

Yashodhan Deshmukh: The admission process is conducted by DTE. All the related details are released when the notifications from DTE comes out. The process in general is:

  • The student has to appear for MAH-CET conducted by DTE or any exam equivalent to MAH-CET (CMAT/CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA etc.)

  • Apply to Admission process of DTE

  • DTE will conduct Document verification at ARCs

  • On the basis of Percentile of Normalized score of entrance exams, seat allocation will be done by DTE on merit in CAP rounds

Careers360: What is your take on WAT as a part of admission process in B-schools?

Yashodhan Deshmukh: WAT can be very helpful as it helps a person to put his/her thoughts in a composed environment. Since GD or PI has not been conducted by our institute yet, an appropriate comment cannot be made on this, still, WAT is an important step in analysing students for final admissions.

Careers360: What makes your campus life or residential programme interesting and distinctive from others?

Yashodhan Deshmukh: Sydenham Institute has always focused on student-driven management. Everything in the campus is managed by students. Barring few of the admission processes, each and every detail is taken care by the student council. These activities including but not limited to managing the website, the relationship with media, examinations, infrastructure, placements and many such important tasks. So the culture here encourages management qualities under pressure in students from Day 1.
