In 10th-64%, 12th-55% ,Grads- pursuing If i manage to get 90-99%ile in CAT,XAT,IIFT,SNAP will i convert any calls from top 10 IIMs and top 10 B-school ?

Adil Suaib Khan Student Expert 13th Apr, 2020

Hii Rohit,

There are a number of other factors which judge whether you will get through even after getting a higher percentile. You subject in graduation subject, what cateogory you fall in. If you get 99 percentile in cat then for sure you'll get calls from some of the CAP IIMs, MDI, IMT and other b schools. This doesn't apply for other bschools in the category like IIFT or even SIBM. But still it still can't be predicted as to you will get a call or not. For your cat prep. You can start off by appearing for a mock test conducted free online and assess your performance that'll help you see and judge the areas you need improvement in and then decide if you need coaching or you can go on by yourself. You can either go for self study or Prepare with a tutor. For english prep. You can start off with Word Power Made easy, do this book twice, don't rush but read it and learn for 30-45 mins everyday. For Quants and LR-Di Arun sharma. Giving a mock a week and analyzing your strengths and weakness in terms of topics, score, percentile score and the time you are spending per question is really important.

Do take mocks religiously and you'll see how much it can affect your preparation in a positive manner.

i am having 54%ile in cat ,635ile in xat,71%ile in cmat and i am a SC student what are my chances of getting a call from XIME

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 13th Apr, 2020
Hello.
Admission in XIME, Bangalore is done on the basis of your academic record, your score in XAT/CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT/ATMA , group discussion and personal interview, work experience, other co-curricular activities, and your achievements.

Total weightage is divided into four parts which you can see below:
  • Academics :20% weightage.
  • score in entrance exam. XAT/CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT/ATMA : 35% weightage.
  • Group discussion : 35%.
  • Multeity or any other extracurricular activity :10% weightage.

Well if we give predominance to the past year record so minimum 75 percentile will has to secured by a candidate in order to get call from XIME , Bangalore (same for all category)
even if we consider CMAT separately then you can expect your chance of getting call for second round if you get 98+ percentile,

Here you have less chances of call from XIME with your record in CAT(54 Percentile), XAT(63 Percentile) ,CMAT( 71 Percentile).
since you don't have percentile matched with the normalised cutoff which is 75 percentile , still there may be one hope for you if cutoff record will vary this year so there may be slight fall or rise , if it's fall so you may have chances at the border through CMAT score , still now I will suggest you to don't have expectations in vain just search for other options ,you can get more predictions by using our college predictor tool ,link is mentioned below:

best of luck.

In 10th-64%,12th-55% ,Grads - pursuing. If I get 90-99%ile in cat or xat or IIFT will i get calls from IIMs or any top 10 B-schools?

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 13th Apr, 2020
Hello,
Getting a call from any IIM depends on a lot of factors such as CAT percentile, graduation subject and percentage, class X and XII marks, work experience if any etc.
An engineer would require higher percentile than a candidate in B.Sc degree.
For your profile, to get a call from top IIMs and B-Schools you'll need 99+ percentile. However this changes every year depending upon number of applicants.

So my situation is this, i have 47% in graduation and got 80 percentile in XAT, so this is limiting my options for admissions in mba colleges. What should i do?

rehan18alam Student Expert 2nd Mar, 2020

Dear aspirant,

Yes this will limit your options for admission in MBA colleges as most of these MBA colleges look at past academic performance of the candidate. Your percentage will definitely be a hindrance in your admission into any top IIM college or XLRI.

You can always take admission in tier 2/3 management colleges.

Hope this helps. Thank you.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 28th Feb, 2020

hi,

gibs business school is not the best college for mba , however placement is quite good, but packages are moderate, average package is 4.8 lakhs, and highest package is 11.8 lakhs, now the college infrastructure and curriculum is good. however I suggest you to attend the interview even if you dont want to join this college, because we can learn many new things by attending interviews and it makes confidence for near future.

I got 99 percentile in cmat and 91 percentile in Xat which college should I eligible?

Ayush Mishra 14th Feb, 2020

Jaineel, you have secured a very good score in CMAT and XAT Examination and this score would probably fetch you the admission to some of the top B-schools in the country. Also, the cutoff or the chances of your selection to any institute may also depends on your graduation credentials, gender, category status etc. and since you have not elaborated about it, so I would answer your query in a generic way. Although, there are many colleges which you can apply for as your scores would clear most of the cutoffs, however, here is a list of some of the top colleges which you may consider:-

JAMNALAL BAJAJ INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (JBIMS), MUMBAI

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, UPES, DEHRADUN

KJ SOMAIYA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES AND RESEARCH, MUMBAI

GREAT LAKES INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, CHENNAI

PRIN LN WELINGKAR INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH, MUMBAI

AMRITA SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, COIMBATORE

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BANK MANAGEMENT, PUNE

LOYOLA INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, CHENNAI

SPJIMR, MUMBAI

KIIT SCHOOL OF ,MANAGEMENT, BHUBANESHWAR

XIMR, MUMBAI

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PLANTATION MANAGEMENT, BANGALORE

GOA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, GOA

SYDENHAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, RESEARCH AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION, MUMBAI
