I got 40 percentage in XAT 2022 .How much percentile should I get?

maaztauquir24 30th Jan, 2022

Hi reader ,

look percentile and percentage are both completely different things.

percentage stands for the total marks you scored out of the total marks for which the exam was conducted.

since you got 40% it means that you scored 40 marks in an exam which was held for 100 marks.

percentile refers to the percentage of people who are behind you or scored less than you in the conducted exam.

for example if 100 candidates appeared for an exam and 90 scored marks less than you then your percentile will be 90 as 90 candidates are behind you.

so by mentioning percentage we cannot predict the percentile until we know the number of candidates who appeared and the rank you secured.

i hope this helps

thank you

I pursued mechanical engineering degree as a part time student and working as a senior engineer in a reputed company. eager to know the difference between mba/pgdm/e-mba. which one I have to choose to upgrade myself. Am I eligible to write cat/xat exams?

Anushri Varshney 6th Mar, 2022

Hi there,

Mba or master of business administration is a two year postgraduate degree majorly focused in management.

See, MBA adds an upper edge in the career of an individual and it allows candidates to grab better placement opportunities with great offers.

As you have mentioned that you are mechanical engineering graduate so yes you can apply for MBA anytime in your life. You can pursue MBA from distance as well.

See, there is a slight difference between PGDM, MBA and E-MBA.

PGDM is a two year diploma degree while MBA is a two year professional degree. MBA has higher value than PGDM. These two degrees are very popular and has better opportunities as well.

Apart from this, you are absolutely eligible for giving CAT/XAT exams. There are no restrictions and eligibility criteria for this degree.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks!!!
