From SNAP and CMAT which exam is more better

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 21st Aug, 2019

Hey,

If we go for a comparative analysis for SNAP Vs other MBA entrance exams like CMAT we may find that SNAP is very much similar to other national level MBA entrance exams

Apart from sectional composition of SNAP Vs other MBA entrance exams, the SNAP has recently changed its mode of exam and has now become a computer based test as against paper based test.

Though CMAT is said to be more tougher than SNAP. Go for both exams.

Hope this helps.

Does the HSC and graduation passing year matter for CAT or SNAP registration?

Paridhi Jain 3rd Aug, 2019
Dear aspirant,

According to your query,

You would like to know that it really does not matter in which year you completed your graduation or HSC. So you can definitely give this exam.  Also if you are a passout student then do apply for this exam.

Best of luck for your future.

Hope you find it useful.

Thank you.

Please suggest book for preparing SNAP 2019

yadvi Student Expert 29th Jul, 2019

Dear candidate,

General English/Verbal Ability Section

This section generally has questions from the following areas: Verbal Reasoning, Vocabulary and Grammar. Many aspirants have found this to be a relatively easy section in SNAP.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension for CAT by Arun Sharma and Meenakshi Upadhyay: This book has amazing tips, sample questions, solved examples and a sound strategy to tackle various types of RC & Verbal Ability questions.

Pearson Guide to Verbal Ability for the CAT and other MBA Entrance Exams By Sujit Kumar: You will find numerous study material as this book is a comprehensive guide that will help you improve your verbal abilities and prepare for the SNAP 2019 exam.

Target SNAP (English) by Disha Publications: This book is explicitly made for SNAP aspirants and will give you in-depth insight into how to crack the SNAP exam with targeted practice. Also, make sure to check out these books that will help you build a strong vocabulary:

Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis

Barron’s Pocket Guide to Vocabulary

Tip: A particular favourite of the SNAP paper setters are questions on 'Kangaroo Words'. A kangaroo word is one that contains letters of another word, in order, with the same meaning. For example, the word 'allocate' contains the word 'allot'. For more such pairs, you can refer to the list of Kangaroo Words given in Miscellaneous Wordlist of the Bulls Eye Vocabulary Builder page.

Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency

The SNAP exam gives a heavy weightage on Arithmetic questions. Data Sufficiency is tricky on the other hand with it being absent from the exam in 2009 and 2011. But relax and don’t stress it the questions asked are quite straightforward.

How to prepare for Data Interpretation for CAT by Arun Sharma: You will get more than 40 test papers with complete solutions as well as previous years SNAP papers in this book.

How to Prepare for Quantitative Ability for CAT – TMH Publication: This book covers all the past as well as probable questions of DI along with tricks to handle each type of question.

Quantitative Aptitude by R.S. Aggarwal: This book is a favourite and it covers all the major topics of quant. You will also get solutions for over 5000+ questions along with various memory-based questions as per the latest trend of SNAP.

Analytical & logical reasoning

The Analytical and logical reasoning section, along with GK, can make or break your success when it comes to the SNAP entrance exam. The following books were compiled with the aim to give you a simple approach to handle complex topics and questions:

I am serious about CAT 2020 but I am also giving CAT 2019 should I go for other MBA exams like SNAP,IIFT this year or in 2020 only.

Amy Student Expert 1st Sep, 2019

Hello aspirant,

You may appear for the other entrance level exams too, for an experience. Try to give all very seriously. If you don't take the exams seriously, then it is better not to waste your time and sit in them for experience as they will not be of any help. Study hard and try to crack them this year itself. In this case, even if you don't crack them this year, you are already ahead of 70% of yoyr competitors for the following year.

Sir i m appearing in cat xat and snap this year want to know which colleges forms are to be filled before these exams

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 1st Sep, 2019
Dear Vishakha, 7.5 CGPA is nothing less. It approximately converts into 71.25. And then you have above 80% in your 10th and 12th. I would suggest you to atleast score 95% in CAT and you can make it to top B Schools or new IIMs. en there is a rating scale for your score in 10th, 12th and Graduation. Have a look at how the rating scale might look like:

10th Rating:

Percent score           Rating Score

<= 55                                    1

> 55 and <= 60                   2

> 60 and <= 70                   3

> 70 and <= 80                   5

> 80 and <= 90                  8

> 90                                    10

So here you score 8 marks.

12th Rating:

Percent score                Rating Score

<= 55                                         1

> 55 and <= 60                        2

> 60 and <= 70                        3

> 70 and <= 80                        5

> 80 and <= 90                        8

> 90                                         10

Here again you score 8 marks.

Percent score in Bachelor's Degree      Rating Score
<= 55                                                                     1
> 55 and <= 60                                                    2
> 60 and <= 62                                                    3
> 62 and <= 65                                                    5
> 65 and <= 70                                                    8
> 70                                                                      10

This is where you score 10 marks. Few top Schools select top 5% of Candidates in each Category to shortlist for WAT and PI rounds. So to be shortlisted, this is how your CAT percentile should look like:

                                       QA          DLR       VARC       Overall
General:                        70             70           70             80
NC-OBC/Trans:           65             65           65             75
SC:                                 60             60           60             70
ST:                                 50             50           50             60
PwD-UR,OBC,SC:       60             60           60              70
PwD: ST:                      50             50          50               60

If you can make this score, then the CAT composite score will be calculated and that will look like this:

Composite score is calculated as follows:
10th Standard: 36*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]
12th Standard: 40*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]
CAT 2019 score: 20*[Candidate's overall score /Highest CAT score]
Gender Diversity Factor: = 4 for female applicants
=0 for other applicants
Composite score= sum of the above scores
Now coming to the final selection, the computation of final composite score is considered as follows:
10th Standard: 10*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

12th Standard: 10*[Z Candidate-Z min/Z max- Z min]

CAT 2019 score: 20*[Candidate's overall score /Highest CAT score]

WAT score: 20*[Z Candidate -Z min/ Z max-Z min]

PI score: 40* [Z Candidate-Z min/Z max-Z min]
